Whether you witty or condescending, if you bash someone's thoughts expect to get a slap in the face.
Beav, prefers to lay it out there without giving you a subtle nudge that he's talking to you. Wyovanian, he thinks movie and book quotes are cute. But he only reverts to those after his initial attacks on people. That's not witty, that's hiding behind wit after he realized he was slapped in the face due to his bashing. He only goes to wit to try an save face.

I read Beav stating his opinion. I then read Wyovanian bash Beav, calling him two faced and speaking out of both sides of his mouth. Wyovanian should expect a punch square in the nose with Beav's words.
Beave has only struck back in self defense.

I'm not an elder, but I view someone dropping to instant vulgarity and insults as grasping for straws in an argument that they are losing. Nothing against beaver but Saying go Eff yourself doesn't mean you win during an argument. Wyovanian can be argumentative just for the sake of arguing sometimes. But that's just who he is.
 
Would all this dysfunction be as visible if UW was 7 - 2 right now instead of 4 - 5? Probably not.

That said, what happened to being civil - honestly - just decent even. We are all UW fans (well most of us are).
 
As much as some of you might "argue" this, I don't promote either. I think Beav's extremely liberal and wide open, gets it all off his sleeve with what he says and thinks. If it's not directed to you, you shouldn't be offended. I recal Titleist allowing cussing on here, so that shouldn't be an issue either.
Wyovanian goes around and in his condescending way looks for a fight or argument. That is extreme on the other side of the fence.
I pride myself to be somewhere in the middle. I do my best not to make personal attacks and bring in wit and facts in MY own opinions. And if someone doesn't agree with what my thoughts are, bet your butt I will defend my opinion while a "Wyovanian" is bashing it.
Having your own opinion is one thing, bashing someone else's because they don't follow your thought process is another.

Again, several on here need to learn proper argue and debate. That is exactly what a forum is for. State your point, properly argue your point (doesn't need to be heated), debate your thoughts and come to your own conclusion.
But instead what I see is Wyovanian and a few others on here who just tear others down on their thought process and then bash them to "make their own point." Nothing good will come from that.

Interesting post. It wasn't too long ago I posted something (irrelevant at this point) on this board, and you took it very personal, and lashed out at me with insults & name calling. The very thing you are referring to as "proper argue and debate" - hell, you don't even follow your own advise!

Oh, and on the point of your first sentence - your post contradicts itself. You are clearly "promoting" Beaverpoke, while dismantling Wyovanian at the same time. Not that I really care, about any of it, (and I certainly could care less what you think of McPeachy) but again, why the mommy-daddy lecture?

Does go on a swearing crusade at times, but so do most of the members on here, so to single him out for it, be it directed at someone on here or for a play during a game, seems either hypocritical or stupid. Sometimes both, depending on who it is.

It's a long shot and I don't even think it will happen...BUT...go Pokes! Beat Boise! Then Hawaii! Then USU! Then a Pac12 team in a bowl and finish 8-5! Just do it!

I did have an interesting post didn't I Peach? You might want to quote these "name callings" and "personal attacks" that you say I've done cause I sure dont remember it that way. I do remember us going back and forth in a debate, but again, that's what you do on a forum, right? State your opinion, defend your position, listen to others thoughts, debate the facts and come to your own conclusion, right?
I would say that I completely follow my advise, although, I wasn't giving advise, just stating my opinion for all to read, just like you.
No, I did not contradict myself at all in my post. While I wouldn't come across like Beave, I sure don't blame him for his response. The only thing I defended was his "cussing", which Titleist allowed on here.
So having thought that I get to express my views on here, why does it always bother you to the point of saying I'm lecturing? What does it matter?

Now, going back to you and and I. If you cannot quote my "personal attacks" or "name calling", I really don't want you addressing me personally. I bet you can't quote it. You know, I'll help you. If you don't want the lecture, you shouldn't start with me when you aren't being addressed. But then again, that's your "right". I don't want to be accused of taking that from you.

Apparently, a few people out there don't know the difference between "talking sh-t" and calling people out on their sh-t. As far as my verbal sparring with Beaver, well, okay, my verbal bitch-slaps of Beaver- it's not the first time I've been told I'm being pretty hard on the critter... I'm pretty sure I struck a nerve when I suggested he had an indication for some psycho-tropic meds.

K-Poke is someone who thinks enterprise (in whatever form) exists so people can have jobs, not in order to accomplish a greater goal. He can't find a reason anyone should be fired. Ever. He also thinks that when you have no retort and feel insulted, hitting is what will win the day. What he and Beaver don't get- unless you can utterly destroy somebody and everyone's memory of them, the moment you have to strike out because you've got no comeback- you've lost the war.

Too many shipwrecked people around here passing on the flotation devices drifting by whilst waiting for God to rescue them. His first question when they finally meet Him- "Didn't you see all the flotation devices I sent your way?"
