Bulletin board material from Loboblast on the MWCboard...

Courtesy of Loboblast, "After a brutal 5 game start I think we're finally coming up against the soft part of the schedule. NMSU always plays us tough no matter how good we are but this year they finally made THAT play to win the game for them. With games At Wyoming, UNLV and at SDSU coming up, I think we have a good chance to go 2-1. We've been improving on both sides of the ball we just need to go and finish all 4 quarters of the game.

Wyoming has a sputtering offense so I think our defense will finally get some breaks. Our defense has improved slightly (gave up 218 total yds vs NMSU, caused 5 T0 vs Tech)even though it hasn't showed on the win/loss column.

You heard it hear first. UNM will get the 1st win of the season (5th strait overall) up in Laramie and tie the alltime series at 31-31. "

I wonder how ugly we can make it for them as Wyoming fans in Laramie on Saturday?

If Wyoming can play like we did last week after a 2,000 + mile trip in 95degree temps with 95% humidity and overcoming the sbc officials, we will do ok. DC doesn't take kindly to these kind of predictions and he will have Wyoming ready.

According to the above website, New Mexico ranks eighth to last (and was formerly last) in the list of smartest states in the country.

I guess these guys are just out to prove the list is right.

Yes, because they did so well against the all and powerful New Mexico State Aggies. For UNM, I would say this is the toughest part of their schedule.. all games they will lose.

I'm hoping our team comes out and just plays as good as they have in spurts for a whole game. I know the crowd is going to be electric coming off of back to back wins and back to back MVP awards for ACS in his first two starts.

I love to see the Lobos spirit though. They haven't lost in Laramie in ten years and they have owned us for a decade. We're the light at the end of their tunnel right now.

I just hope we can turn that light into a "Train" loaded with about 100,000 tons of Wyoming coal.

This tasty little nugget comes from K5James on the MWCboard.....

""Child please..."

This is why Lobo fan and some of the rest of us are telling you guys you need to come back to reality.

I'm glad you guys won and are excited but you "flew 2,000 miles, in the 90 degree heat and humidity and sustained super long drives to seal a win" against a team that has yet to win a game this year. You guys are making it sound like you had a comeback win against Florida/Miami/FSU heck even a win against UCF would have been more impressive.

No you didn't lose to Idaho in the Kibbie, that's only because you didn't play them.

A bowl team? Really? Who do you guys beat after New Mexico this week?

@ Air Force - L
@ Utah - L
BYU - L
@ SDSU - Probably your last chance at a W but you haven't won in San Diego as long as the conference has been around.
TCU - L
@ CSU - L

Myopia, thy name is Wyoming fan."

I think this is Wyoming's chance to make a statement. Sure New Mexico's won 0 games, but if we can actually win in a blowout for once, then maybe we'll be taken seriously for once.

If Pokes for one second believe that this game is a gimme, they will lose it, so I pray the put the pedal to the metal without looking back for a second. I want to see that these guys can score a lot, be it long passes, short passes, long runs, short runs, trick plays, special teams...

With all the turnovers we've forced, isn't it about time our defense scored, by the way?

Anyways... this game does worry me. If Wyoming loses this, a lot of credibility goes down the drain. It's hard to not have expectations when you see all these positive signs in pretty much every area of the team.

I completely agree we need to dominate this game and win by 2 TDs and we will gain some credibility around the league

This is a huge game imo. New Mexico has won their last 4 trips to laramie. And despite the loss at Texas Tech last week, they probably have a little more confidence because they forced 5 turnovers, and were able to put some points on the board. Granted most of those points came late in the 4th quarter, but I imagine they will think they can build on that.

Wyoming is coming off two big wins, but they had to battle back and forth the whole game. If DC gets them well prepared throughout the week, this game shouldn't be a problem. But my concern is more with the D, than the O right now. The offense is starting to find a rhythm and they've rallied behind ACS, and this is good, they need to continue that, and they're still keeping the turnovers to a minimum. The D however has been great at times, and had the ability to make plays when they need to, but still somewhat inconsistent. It took FAU 3 plays to score their first touchdown on saturday. They've given up a lot of yards and points so far this season, and granted we've played some very good offensive teams. I think the best thing is for the D to set the tone in this game. Get out, punch them in mouth, and get this team down FAST. Three and outs, turnovers, whatever. Keep them off the board, and leave it to the offense to bury them. Don't give them any reason to think they can stay in this game and possibly win it. And once they're down keep them down.

As far as the offense is concerned, keep racking up yards, moving the sticks, scoring points, and hang on to the ball. The last few weeks they've been very efficient with this. Take advantage of turnovers, and put points on the board...hopefully lots of points.

If Wyoming wins this by 2-3 touchdowns, it will indeed make a statement to the rest of the league, and give them more credibility. As it stands right now, I still can't see odds makers giving wyoming much more than a 7 point spread.

I also think its important because after this game, the rest of the schedule is rough, and Wyoming isn't going to really get another game like this this season where they really have a chance to dominate an opponent. After this weekend, every game is a potential shootout imo. But, in the meantime, hopefully they just take care of business saturday and build on what will hopefully be a 3 game winning streak. So, here's to Wyoming coming out with fire lit under their ass, and giving to the Lobos.

GO POKES!!!!!

I doubt DC cares what gets posted on forums.

You also don't get blown out in 4 or your first 5 games, with the only close game being against a really bad St team, and get to brag about anything. Its no stretch to claim Weber St, UNLV, and FAU are all better than New Mexico St, particularly when SDSU just kicked the living crap out of NM St.

Wyoming has nothing to prove, New Mexico does.

This almost stacks up like a lose-lose. We should beat NM by 2 or 3 touchdowns, they are frankly (and I am sure nobody will argue) the worst team in the conference. If we squeak out a win, there will still be no respect for the Pokes...and if we blow them away, there will be no respect for the pokes.

I don't see why there wouldn't be respect for us if we blew them away? A 40-7 win should definitely make the pokes look good. But sure, if this is a close game, or God forbid, a loss, this could be bad.

I notice Utah is down there with them.

I just think...if you blow out a really shitty team at HOME, everyone will agree that is what should have happened. See Also: Rice, Miami (OH), Ballsack State, Western Kentucky, Eastern Michigan, FAU, FIU, etc...and their away game losses...

Wyoming doesnt have anything to prove really? they have a lot to prove please explain

Wyoming has 3 wins, New Mexico has zero wins. That definately puts the "prove you can win a stinking football game" onus on New Mexico. What does Wyoming have to prove? That we can beat a crappy team at home? We've already done that. The inferiority complex of some Wyoming fans is amazing. Even if Wyoming blows New Mexico out, its not like other average teams haven't already done that (Tulsa, Texas A&M). I guess Wyoming could prove they stink if they lose this game.

Wyoming hasn't proven that they can put games away, I think that's the point a lot of people are making. Winning by 7, 3, and 2 points definitely isn't beating the $%^&*&^$@ out of anybody, especially since we came from behind for those two last ones. Winning by 3 or more scores (i.e. 17+ points) would be proving that we don't belong with the "crappy" teams.

Wyoming has proven little thus far pirate they i definantly agree with Asmodeanreborn we have to prove we can go out at home and dominate a bad footballl team if we lose that is bad...

Wyoming should win this game by 17-21 points . Yes , New Mexico is THAT bad . New Mexico is in the running this year with a few other teams as being the worst D1-A team in the country .
I haven't said much about this but I remember when I first saw the MWC media days and I watched all of the coaches talk , I thought Locksley sounded the worst out of all the coaches and thought he said a few things that most coaches shouldn't or wouldn't say about his team. I remember thinking if I was a player on his team and heard some of what he said that I wouldn't want to play for the guy . Just my opinion but I had a strong feeling N. Mexico was going to have a lot of problems this year and low and behold they are .
Wyoming at home should take care of this team and if we lose then WE have some BIG problems . DC will have the Boys ready and this won't be that close of a game .

Crap like that is why I try to avoid multi fan forums, I hate listening or trying to educate PokeHaters.

While, I will take another win anyway we can get it (1pt), for my blood-pressure's sake I would like to have a comfortable 9 pt lead late in the game, knowing 1 fluke play won't give them the chance to tie it up.

This isn't a PTS thread but mine is.....Wyo 31, NM 20.

It may go without saying that NM is one of my least favorite teams right up there with CSU and Utah.
