Other names that are confirmed leaving are Will Tutein and Tristan Bailey. Losing Tutein hurts depth but I don't think he was happy he didn't get a scholarship. And Bailey. Well yeah. Performance spoke for itself.
I saw that a while ago that Tutein was upset about not getting a scholly. I would be, too, frankly. He started games for heaven's sakes and contributed to the program more than many schollarshipped players. That sets a bad precedent for Bohl's vaunted walk-on program.NebraskaCowboy said:Other names that are confirmed leaving are Will Tutein and Tristan Bailey. I don't think he started any games this past year. He was moved to linebacker and finished 21st on the team in tackles (Uso finished 15th). Probably didn't like the move and now he would be backup considering all the linebackers we have back, the one or two that are redshirting, and all the new recruits...all of whom are bigger than Tuetin.LanderPoke said:I saw that a while ago that Tutein was upset about not getting a scholly. I apologize to both Slow and Beav.
Go Pokes!!
Not necessarily. Uso and Chase were only juniors this year. You have Dalton Fields, who was a sophomore, Connor Cain (RFr), and Sydney Malauulu (RFr). That is two deep for next year not taking into consideration the kid from Nebraska who is redshirting this year....Youanna GhaifanJ-Rod said:A tale that's lasted 15 years...it's not just getting good players that is hard, it's keeping them. I doubt Uso is the only player that departs this off-season. DL will be rebuilding next fall. Good thing the rest of the defense isn't.

I'd be furious, too. Especially after how he played last year. He deserved to be on scholarship. He was one of the only ones on d that played with a chip on their shoulder. This sends a terrible message to anyone looking to walk-on at UWMcPeachy said:303cowboy said:[tweet]https://twitter.com/WMT19/status/675066504690446336[/tweet]

Eh...wow. I have been as skeptical as anyone, but this is certainly alarming.
Not putting too much into it either. Maybe Will should have slept on things for a night before allowing himself to go postal on social media? Maybe? Maybe.
Stop the presses! Wyovanian and I agree! Olive was invisible on the field. Who cares if he leaves? And as far as the kicker leaving, that's addition by subtraction there. We can all agree he was God awful and wasn't going to play next year, anyway.Wyovanian said:Mountains out of molehills... another DC defensive recruit who underwhelmed on the field...

When a *suspected* employee of the athletic department says this, you know it's bad...wyocowboy2014 said:This is the reason a number of players (especially ones mentioned on this board) have "left the program." Articles, tweets, and press releases have stated a myriad of reasons, but the real reason is particular coaches have forced players out of the program against the players wishes. I would almost say this has become an epidemic.

WestWYOPoke said:Uh...it's their team, they can push people out of the program if they want, it happens at every school in the country, you act like this is some catastrophic phenomenon that happens only here. Is it a good thing? No. Is it unusual? Hell no.
WestWYOPoke said:Not good, I agree. But totally within their prerogative as the coaches of this program. Shady? Yes, but we also don't know the whole story. Kid gets kicked off team and is bitter and doesn't tell the whole story...that would never happen right?
