And so it begins....

Other names that are confirmed leaving are Will Tutein and Tristan Bailey. Losing Tutein hurts depth but I don't think he was happy he didn't get a scholarship. And Bailey. Well yeah. Performance spoke for itself.

I saw that a while ago that Tutein was upset about not getting a scholly. I would be, too, frankly. He started games for heaven's sakes and contributed to the program more than many schollarshipped players. That sets a bad precedent for Bohl's vaunted walk-on program.

I don't think he started any games this past year. He was moved to linebacker and finished 21st on the team in tackles (Uso finished 15th). Probably didn't like the move and now he would be backup considering all the linebackers we have back, the one or two that are redshirting, and all the new recruits...all of whom are bigger than Tuetin.

I wish him the best.

Too emotional....I too wish Uso the best regardless of what I think of his decision. I also need to step back and not let my emotions get the best of me. When your blood is brown and gold this kind of stuff gets to you.

I apologize to both Slow and Beav.

Go Pokes!!

It's all good. My apologies for being a pest at times.

A tale that's lasted 15 years...it's not just getting good players that is hard, it's keeping them. I doubt Uso is the only player that departs this off-season. DL will be rebuilding next fall. Good thing the rest of the defense isn't.
Not necessarily. Uso and Chase were only juniors this year. You have Dalton Fields, who was a sophomore, Connor Cain (RFr), and Sydney Malauulu (RFr). That is two deep for next year not taking into consideration the kid from Nebraska who is redshirting this year....Youanna Ghaifan

But, doesn't hurt to keep on recruiting good DT's. I have a feeling Ja'Chai Baker will be a DE at 6'8".

Yes 1 scholarship. Can't say though that the 1 is not about the most surprising one I could have imagined.

Eh...wow. I have been as skeptical as anyone, but this is certainly alarming.

Not putting too much into it either. Maybe Will should have slept on things for a night before allowing himself to go postal on social media? Maybe? Maybe.

I'd be furious, too. Especially after how he played last year. He deserved to be on scholarship. He was one of the only ones on d that played with a chip on their shoulder. This sends a terrible message to anyone looking to walk-on at UW

The guy was pretty solid last year at safety, then the coaches recruit shit for linebackers and end up moving a bunch of safeties to linebacker. He seems to have gotten the shit end of the stick. I'm going to assume he's upset that he made the sacrifice of switching from a position he was pretty decent at for the sake of the team and the coaching staff gave him no reward. He sounds like he has been a malcontent for a little while which may be the reason he was kicked out of the program. No matter what, this is just another thing that reflects poorly on the coaching staff. I doubt many guys are going to be excited to walk on here with the way they treated this kid.

Mountains out of molehills... another DC defensive recruit who underwhelmed on the field...
Stop the presses! Wyovanian and I agree! Olive was invisible on the field. Who cares if he leaves? And as far as the kicker leaving, that's addition by subtraction there. We can all agree he was God awful and wasn't going to play next year, anyway.

This is the reason a number of players (especially ones mentioned on this board) have "left the program." Articles, tweets, and press releases have stated a myriad of reasons, but the real reason is particular coaches have forced players out of the program against the players wishes. I would almost say this has become an epidemic.

Yeah, I'm not sure what to think about this either. Will this be something negative on the coaching staff or is this more something about a young man who should have taken a breather before posting?

Either way, I do wish nothing but the best for him! If nothing else, his time here should be able to land him a schollie elsewhere (another team or another division).

When a *suspected* employee of the athletic department says this, you know it's bad...

Lol at people thinking I work for the athletic dept.

Uh...it's their team, they can push people out of the program if they want, it happens at every school in the country, you act like this is some catastrophic phenomenon that happens only here. Is it a good thing? No. Is it unusual? Hell no.

It is typically not good when one of those people turns out to be the #1 JUCO recruit in the nation after leaving.

Not good, I agree. But totally within their prerogative as the coaches of this program. Shady? Yes, but we also don't know the whole story. Kid gets kicked off team and is bitter and doesn't tell the whole story...that would never happen right?

I definitely agree about waiting to hear the entire story so I'm not jumping to any conclusions yet.

However, I will say, that when you deconstruct a program to one of the worst in FBS then, well, you know, your decisions and methods are going to be questioned especially when they are along these lines.
