AFC/NFC Championships & Superbowl

How many of you guys caught the epic AFC Championship game?

For as much crap as Peyton gets about being a regular season QB, he is now 3-1 vs Brady in the AFC Championship.
Although it was the Denver defense that did the heavy lifting today like they have all year.
Peyton did have a couple TDs though.

The NFC Championship game.... what a blowout!
Palmer threw how many picks? 4!

Haha!

Superbowl 50: Denver Broncos vs Carolina Panthers

Can't say I'm confident about Denver in Super Bowl 50. Carolina has done nothing all year but just obliterate teams. They score like a college offense.

And Denver scores like OUR college offense

And Denver was suppose to lose to the mighty Patriots and their D knocked tom Brady all over. Cam is slightly more mobile though.

'Grats on the win, Broncos fans. I thought for sure NE would show up better than they did, but credit to your defense.

Still I see flashbacks to SB 48 when I think about how this game will go. Carolina is just on another level, in my mind.

Denver's offense in 2013 set all sorts of records just to get embarrassed by the team with the #1 defense in the SB.

Carolina has a strong defense though, and Denver's wasn't all that great that season.

Manning, against a team with a solid D, fairly popular, young, mobile, QB, and a ton of bandwagon fans. Sounds familiar

Just how good is the Denver D? We'll find out and makes this an intriguing matchup. If the Denver D is as good as advertised, then this game will be close. However, Denver isn't going to be able to drop everyone in pass coverage and rush 3 on Newton or he'll run all over them.

Carolina is a complete team and tough to pick against them. Denver's D could keep them in this game and they'll need to. Denver O isn't going to win or even keep pace in a shootout.

Denver will probably be humiliated. Manning will barely get a chance to throw since he can't move very well out of the pocket. Except for the uniform colors, you will be watching the 2015 Pokes on offense.

That Broncos vs. Pats games was spectacular! Denver is going to get crushed in the Super Bowl, though. Carolina is looking pretty unstoppable. Carson Palmer had an amazing season, but has 6(!) turnovers against the Panthers? I would say it's more the defense having their way than the Cards offense being inept.

No way Denver gets blown out. They will in fact win. There are some huge intangibles. #1--the emotional play for Pat Bowlen and to win the land mark #50 event. #2--Peyton's last game in Denver. This game is no different that Elway's win over Green Bay in their 1st Super Bowl win ( this one's for John) and the Bronco's were double digit dogs in that game . A relentless pass rush and incredible defense and Cam is going to get his learning curve in with a loss for next year's win, but not this year.

So funny to hear the exact same rhetoric going into Super Bowl as I did going into AFC champ game. Hell, the second the donks beat my steelers, I thought "the pats are going to demolish this team". Everyone was wrong.

More often than not, the game is within 8 points or so of the spread (i.e. team A favored by -4 but team B wins by 4 = 8 points). I don't remember the exact number but it is somewhere around there.

2007 was a huge shift where Pats were favored by 14 but Giants won by 14. Most years, the line is fairly close (at least through the last decade or so).

Social media was full of people writing Denver off.

Those same people wrote them off against New England. Current Sports Illustrated picked the Patriots to win 42-17 and boy was that dumb. I don't care how much they lack on offensive, if they can not turn the ball over, they have a chance. It's almost like Larry Shyatt is the head coach of this team. They play good defense, have been limiting mistakes, and are winning the ugly games just like he likes.

I knew the Pats-Broncos game was going to be a close one. I don't think the Super Bowl will be a blowout, but if both teams play like they did yesterday I have Panthers winning by double digits. I know that the Broncos D is legit, but so is the Panthers, I would argue just as good or only slightly behind. And I don't think anyone would argue that the Panthers offense is more dangerous.

To me, it will be the intangibles, will Playoff Peyton show up or will it be regular season Peyton?
Will Cam rise to the occasion or wilt under the pressure of being in the big one?
Which D will make enough big plays to win and/or can Denver's D slow down Carolina's offense enough?
Most important player for Denver might end up being McManus.

The only thing weak about the Panthers D is their secondary but those linebackers make up for the secondary being suspect. I don't think Denver can win this game if they get behind but if they can keep it to a 1-2 score game they have a chance.

Panthers offense is legit and they seem to score at will. Denver on the other hand have problems and it will only take one problem to lose the Superbowl.
