Hey POKE FAN - you post some incredible stuff. Great articles, great pictures. Both here and the Basketball board. You are the man, I so much appreciate your input here. If you live out of state, PM me, and I will buy and mail you a hat, or T, or something, ON ME...if you want.
Not necessary, McPeachy, but thanks for the compliment. As I mentioned before, I'm reading and viewing this material myself, so why not spend a few seconds copying and pasting for the Poke fanatics. It's no trouble. By the way, I'm in Cheyenne. I have enough WYO gear to last several lifetimes. :thumb:

No Problem, thanks again. :thumb:

Utah State football: Trap game? More for surprising Wyoming than USU (Salt Lake Tribune)

Laramie, Wyo. • Three months ago, Utah State's early-November battle with Wyoming looked like a classic trap game.

The Aggies were scheduled to play the Cowboys one week after a long-awaited showdown against San Diego State and one week before a home game against improved New Mexico.

When the Aggies visit War Memorial Stadium on Saturday, however, Wyoming is the team in Mountain West Conference championship contention — the one that can't afford to be caught looking ahead.

"I'm firmly convinced that there's greatness here," (Bohl) said. "I believe that we can return Cowboy football back to having national relevance."

Podcast here: https://www.spreaker.com/user/aggieup/bridgers-battle

I just listened to that. I listened to the press conference the other day. The entire USU fan base, administration, players, and coaches sound like they're already beaten.

What I don't understand is how they think they're going to stop Brian Hill. They've been getting trucked in the run game all year. Their offensive weakness is their line.

If they can't stop the run, and they can't stop us from making them one dimensional......They're going to get beat down.

We'll see. Usually I don't expect a blow-out. I think we're going to hammer Utah State.

Know the Foe: Former Wyoming star finds niche in coaching at Utah State (WyoSports.net)

“Coach Bouknight has had a nice progression as a coach here,” Matt Wells said. “He’s a detail-oriented wide receivers coach who covers everything from route-running, catching the ball, and about the importance of being physical and good blockers around the perimeter.”

"I think coach Bouknight has a bright coaching future,” Matt Wells said. “He’s sharp, detailed, a good recruiter and is extremely personable.”

“Wyoming’s playing wonderful football right now,” Bouknight said. “They’re getting great coaching and are playing with unbelievable confidence. We’re catching them at the wrong time, but I think it will be a dogfight.

Former Wyoming QB Smith returns to complete degree, still has professional football aspirations (WyoSports.net)

“It’s fun seeing the growth and development of the team under (third-year coach Craig Bohl),” Smith said. “I knew he would do it. He’s a really good coach, and you can tell that from where this team was at to where they are now. Everyone is bought in, and they have some great players. It’s fun to watch my former school that I had so much fun at playing well and having success.”

3 keys to the game: Utah State at Wyoming (WyoSports.net)

1. Focused and sharp

Wyoming’s win last week over Boise State was one of the program’s biggest in the last 20 years, but this is a new week and an opponent that is more than capable of winning — especially if UW isn’t sharp in all three aspects of the game. The Cowboys need to play well from start to finish and make sure their focus is on Utah State, not last week’s victory.

Aggies face red-hot Cowboys in must-win game (Logan Herald Journal)

“Like I said about last year, it wasn’t even a close ballgame (vs. USU),” Bohl said. “It was over early, so we’ll have our hands full. You know, we can’t tell where (USU’s at), but we’ve got to make sure we’re on the right track, because you always get concerned when you have a young football team — and we are young — when you come off an emotional win like we did, sometimes emotions run high … and we need to be steady.”

I loved watching Brett play for the pokes and in truth my child was named Brett because of how much I loved him as a player for the brown and gold.

That being said I always will feel bad he didn't stick around the first year under bohl. I wish him the best going forward.

Natrona County grads Logan Wilson and Josh Harshman play role in Wyoming football's turnaround (trib.com)

“From the beginning of the game, I was a little bit nervous coming out, night game, Northern Illinois,” Wilson said. “But I think I’ve made some improvement from that first game to now.”

“It’s awesome, especially to see it in my first year of actually playing,” Wilson said. “It’s pretty cool. Coach Bohl, they always said it’s a process, and a lot of people don’t realize how much of a process it truly is, all the fans. It really is a process.

It's really cool to see Bohl recruiting these Wyoming kids.

I still remember in his opening presser when Bohl said kids from Wyoming would be the backbone of the program. A few people were concerned about it early on, but it's kids like these who are making the statement true.

I always hated to see Wyoming kids playing elsewhere because UW didn't recruit them. Little doubt many are players, Prosinski, Keisel (not at UW), Wendling. There's definitely talent from this state. Glad Bohl recognizes that and is getting them into Laramie.

Gagliardi analysis: What a difference a year makes (WyoSports.net)

Several University of Wyoming football players who played in last year’s game at Utah State were back on the field against the Aggies Saturday night.

(Josh) Allen threw a career-high four touchdown passes and was 16 of 26 for 261 yards. He added 66 rushing yards and a touchdown.

You can’t underestimate the importance of (Tanner) Gentry here. He was UW’s leading receiver last season before he got hurt. Despite missing the last five games he led the Cowboys with 678 receiving yards.

(Logan) Wilson is one of three players tied for the team lead with three interceptions. His play this season a big reason UW’s defense is much improved this season.

UW notebook: Cowboys survive without May (WyoSports.net)

University of Wyoming senior linebacker D.J. May was having a terrific game early on against Utah State Saturday night at War Memorial Stadium.

The senior was all over the field and had already recorded two tackles – both for loss – and one that was his second sack of the season.

“The information I got was that the initial hit was low, then it went high,” Cowboys coach Craig Bohl said after UW’s 52-28 win. “What was a challenge was he was our main nickel (defender).”
