This was mentioned in the Peters thread. I'm guessing they are visiting Irshad Hunte can't find much on him but looks to have good size. If it's not Hunte they're going to visit who do you guy's think it is? Is there still a chance we can land Dontay Bassett because that would be a huge get as well.

I get the feeling that we put a whole bunch of our eggs in Bryce Peters' basket. Thanks, Peters. I'm assuming we're going after Irshad real hard now. No possibility of Alpha Diallo or Basset? Anyone in the know?
 
I'm not saying he's coming to Wyoming. I just wanted to update people on him. Dontay Bassett is a California boy. I think the Gator offer without Donovan or Shyatt isn't that big of a deal to Dontay. There's a lot of big schools after him. I'll bet the Gators don't get him.
 
He may not go to Florida but that is the caliber of offers he is receiving now. I don't expect us to be in the mix. Really thought we would hear something on Iggy by now. Jeremy Shyatt hasn't tweeted anything to indicate a commitment.
 
Good news. From what I've been reading we may have found a gem. Super athletic, but a bit unrefined. Fine by me knowing the way Shyatt can develop players. He had lots of offers including one from Nevada. I'm still not certain if he is a guard or more of a big man.
 
I can't find any video on Irshad(Iggy) Hunte. I will paraphrase what people have written about him so people know what we're getting.

Good Hands
Long arms
40 inch verticle
Gets off the ground quick
Active
Good rebounder on both ends of the floor
Athletic
Defensive minded
Can guard the 2, 3, and 4 spots

I think he's going to fit right in. We've got a lot of youth in the post, but it's going to turn out to be a lot of quality depth in a couple of years.

I think this has to be the case. I wonder if he'll play at a JUCO and lose some eligibility or just take some classes and come here with 4 years to play. Then again, if he can't be here this year he'll become a 2017 guy and I personally think we have more talent available (stewart, thompson, etc.) than him that year.

This whole situation has raised a lot of new questions... hopefully the media gets those answered.

EDIT: Thinking about it more... UW can now pursue a 5th year senior transfer in the spring IF a roster spot becomes available. That would give us 3 seniors (mcmanamen, marshall, transfer) allowing for 3 scholarship offers to be filled in 2017 leaving room for Hunte.
I don't want to think about this too much though, as I don't want to take any more of my attention away from this upcoming season!
