2-3 SJSU favored over Wyoming in Laramie

We are certainly a MWC doormat. At least basement reinforcements are on the way with 1-4 MAC Northern Illinois and 1-5 CUSA UTEP.

This is a game we should win. But we will find a creative way to lose. Maybe blocked field goal for TD this week.

I still have the B&G glasses on, a trait most Wyoming fans understand.

Wyoming 30 - Hoser 28
I sympathize but I can't go there. You think we'll score 30? We have to score 15 safeties or 10 field goals. I was very down on this coaching staff and was hoping that time on the job would improve them. They broke me last week. The level of incompetence in every aspect of the game is incredible. They will keep finding new and creative ways to lose games.

Joser's DBs tackle well. Bainer is a bit of a ball hawk and they'll send him on blitzes. They also generate some pressure (top 50 in sacks/game) so well timed screens will be important. That said, pass D is their weakness. Anderson wins or loses this game.

They rank pretty well on most defensive rushing stats only allowing about 90 yards the last 3 games. Some of that is because teams have been throwing on them.

Offensively they can be dangerous. Eget looked good against UNM. Good passing attack. Pressure will be critical.

Interestingly, they are near the bottom of cfb in points allowed. UNM qb had a career day against them. They also allow a lot of points in the first half.

This game goes as Anderson goes. He finds rhythm and POKES win 28-24.

I see flashes of a serviceable offense...yes, my B&G glasses are showing.

Then again, if the offense continues to be offensive, that will change.

I have zero faith in either Sawvel or Anderson to get the job done.

I won't be watching this one. I'm back to just checking scores on Sunday morning, just like last year. It is painful to watch this team underperform week in and week out, and I won't be doing it anymore.

This is where I am at. While I think we have the player personnel to be successful in this current pretty bad version of the MWC, this is the most incompetent staff I’ve personally witnessed at a Division 1 level. I’d take the Koenning staff over this any day.

Surprisingly, I have seen similar/worse coaching staffs in college but not many. New Mexico Highlands in the early 2000s come to mind. They were equally dis functional and found some of the most incredible ways to give up points such as not being taught that you have to actually field the kickoff, etc.

I still have faith in the Cowboys tomorrow. But if they stumble all over themselves and find a way to give the game away, I won't have any faith in visits from CSU or Nevada.

We gave up two blocked puns for touchdowns. Our offense can move the ball between the 30s but stalls around the red zone. They can throw the ball and prioritize getting it out quickly, so the notion that we can get pressure on their QB, especially given pass performances, is almost laughable. My guess is we lose 38 to 17

Joser has some play makers at receiver. I watched a bit of the game with UNM last weekend, and they made some impressive catches-also a lot of lucky stuff too. I too have the B&G glasses on and haven't given up just yet. Anderson can make some plays against this defense. Get Durr and Sargent in space, and Scott to pound the ball and it could be a good game. Come out unprepared like last weekend and we're staring squarely at a 2-10 finish to the 2025 campaign.

Wyoming is a paltry 1-6 vs SJSU since the Spartans joined the MWC in 2013. I have very little reason to believe Sawvell and his staff are able to reverse our fortunes vs Sparty.

Sounds like Durr might be out for the game.

We haven't faced a lot of great Os, but the pass D has been decent. The Lobos have a porous pass D. They're allowing almost 100 more yards/game than the POKES.

27-20 Joser. God, I hate that I just typed that. Come on Pokes, make me believe again!!
This could be a turning point for VaJayJay. He wins, and carries that to the mediocre 6 win goal, things will settle. He loses, especially in bad fashion, the the seat heats up significantly.

24-10, SJSU.... Unless our O figures something out in a week... I guess special teams too...

I dream JA17 would hire WYO a QB coach to better develop the players over what we seem to be doing, even when he was here. 5 games in and calls to swap QBs two years in a row.... Prior to Peasley, seemed to have been the same course as well, and Peasley didn't have it all roses either.
