while I and this board have lampooned the strength of the MWC in football. In basketball UW checks in at 117 and there are four MWC teams ahead of UW. UNLV (78); UNM (77); Nevada (70) and Grand Canyon (44) in KenPom's preseason rankings. Hawaii (134) went 24-9 last year and made the NCAA tournament. Also, former Meeteetsee High standout Jeremy Cox is an assistant at UTEP with former Casper College coach Dan Russell. MWC is better bball league than a football league, going to make for an interesting season.

Apparently, Grand Canyon spent $12 million on its roster, about the same amount as Syracuse. Sure they are good for our SOS and other metrics but it rubs me the wrong way that this fake school is in our league.

Any player making 6 figures shouldn’t get free room and board anymore either.
