MW+ App as a potential big revenue driver (how the money is split)

a. 60% - of the money generated from fans who select their favorite college when paying for the app. (The app costs $79.99 annually or $10.99 monthly)
b. 40% - goes into a pool (the number of games that are produced (all sports), the number of subscribers a school has, all play into the how the 40% is divided between mbr schools
c. Schools also can create app-only content to try and drive more subscriptions, with the MW partnering with internet video company based Kiswe on the new app.

60% of $10.99 across our small fanbase! This has the potential to generate dozens of dollars!!
The real problem is what you get with the subscription. For UW, you get one single football game and mostly non-conference basketball games. If you don't care about the non-revenue sports, it just isn't worth it.

Maybe if UW creates some consistent well produced app only content, they can grow subscriptions some? I will give credit to UW for having a pretty damn good social media department for athletics.

It surprises me that linear TV still drives so much in today's televised sports market, especially for non-national brands like the schools in the MWC. Can the MWC not get just as good a financial deal with a single streaming service like Apple TV? Every single game in one place with a single subscription - seems like it would make things way easier.

I might pay the $10.99 to watch one Wyoming game, but that's it. Whole thing is too expensive, IMO.
I did a year, subscription cost me $63.99 or something. We will see!
I was thinking the same paying for September with only 1 Wyoming football game on the MW+. Then I figure hoops will probably have MW+ games November, December, January, February and maybe March.

At $10..99 I would be doing 6 months costing $65.94 so the first year cost with the Welcome15 discount for 15% off at $67.99 is only $2.05 more enabling me to catch other MW games.

I easily spend $60 on a single dinner out for myself and the wife and all we get is a couple pints and our entrees.

Since I live over 1,000 miles from Laramie it’s a great way to watch the Pokes which I rarely miss watching a game. It’s a small token payment to help support athletics at UW short of sending donations directly. If I make one home football game per year that is my other direct donation since I don’t do CJC anymore.

That would be worth it on it's own. I LOVED watching / listening to the coaches shows of yesteryear. Some of my favorites were Fred Akers. That man was tenacious.
Agreed. The coaches shows always helped me feel a little more connected to the program, and most of the time, a little more optimistic about them. I enjoy listening to Sunny. Sawvel...not so much. Not just because he is a poor public speaker, but I always come away with the feeling that he just doesn't have it in him to right this ship.
