Mountain West Didn’t Just Survive Realignment, It May Have Won It!

My best estimate today: about $2 million annually in effective value from the HNN partnership, with perhaps $1–1.5 million of that being direct cash and the remainder production, promotion, and distribution value.

If the new Mountain West media agreement settles in the range many analysts expect, Hawaii could realistically be looking at:

Mountain West distribution: $6–7M
HNN local media package: $1–3M
Total: $7-10M

I have read a couple of statements that the PAC was going to include Wyo but SDSU vetoed that UW be included in the new Pee12. Anyone know if this is true or just simply speculation?

San Diego State previously publicly cited the difficulties in traveling to Wyoming as a need to leave the MWC in their previous effort to join the PAC-12. Accordingly, this is very believable.

Of the 5 defectors, I'd guess San Diego St would be the least likely to want to bring us with them.
I've heard the BSU and SDSU specifically didn't want Wyoming....since those two have been the strongest programs the last 10 years or so...it makes sense that Wyoming was never getting an invitation.

What programs actually like playing Wyoming? anybody?

Such chickenshit reasoning. Amazing that Wyoming can get out of Laramie an order of magnitude more frequently and never miss games. So dumb that people take that at face value. It's literally a cover for the real reason, which is they think they're a better brand and don't want to be associated with us. I don't know why they won't just come out once and say it.

It's absolutely a cover for that. I think they don't want to say it because they are trying to be politically correct.

Ultimately this comes back to Wyoming sucking at everything for a every long time. If we were good, all of a sudden teams would not have such a problem traveling to Laramie. It has everything to do with basically being unable to contend.

I don't know if that is true. They began complaining when we routinely beat them in basketball in Laramie. They raised hell about the weather and logistics in getting to Laramie as an excuse for losing in the AA. This has been their bitch for decades at this point regardless of how good or bad we've been. They simply think they are above traveling to such a small populous area.

Plus to cover their asses should everything fall apart and is forced back into the same conference as Wyoming...again.
