I today’s climate of money rules college sports, why do we (unfortunately) even care about academics anymore?

for the academics in the university and alumni to care what conference the sportsball teams are in is really weird. You're playing the other school in football, it's not a spelling bee

My best estimate today: about $2 million annually in effective value from the HNN partnership, with perhaps $1–1.5 million of that being direct cash and the remainder production, promotion, and distribution value.

If the new Mountain West media agreement settles in the range many analysts expect, Hawaii could realistically be looking at:

Mountain West distribution: $6–7M
HNN local media package: $1–3M
Total: $7-10M

I have read a couple of statements that the PAC was going to include Wyo but SDSU vetoed that UW be included in the new Pee12. Anyone know if this is true or just simply speculation?

Of the 5 defectors, I'd guess San Diego St would be the least likely to want to bring us with them.

San Diego State previously publicly cited the difficulties in traveling to Wyoming as a need to leave the MWC in their previous effort to join the PAC-12. Accordingly, this is very believable.
