Now that football is no longer upper middle, UW has to be one of the worst sport programs in fbs. Why that is allowed to continue largely on the back of taxpayers/students is beyond me?

Yes. Hiring an assistant coach with no head coaching experience , not just once, but twice, should be enough. Unless they are coming from a P4 coordinator position, where they’ve seen and learned from a head coach at the highest levels, that lack of experience is insurmountable.
