I can see that the stage is set for a whole bunch of he said she said crap in the coming weeks. It seems we already have some equating those that question Bohl with fans who threw shit in 99.
Here is mine:
I'm still 100% in Bohls corner and think a lot can change from game 1. I do think Bohl and company were talking the talk and drinking the Kool-Aid until reality bitched slapped them. The true test of their character is now, not last Saturday.
For the first time since hiring Bohl, for me at least, I had a glimpse of doubt. I don't think there is any guarantee one way or the other, but we should not have regressed this much. The game-plan was abysmal. Every coachable aspect that could be controlled was atrocious. The loss was not just a sign of youth but also of terrible preparation.
I am not panicked. I still think Bohl is the guy for the job but he has some to learn as well. Youth will definitely play a role in performance and I hope to see much cleaner and crisper play. Since we are playing so much youth, I would hope to see significant progress from now until our last game. I disagree that we need 4 more or even 3 more years to make an evaluation. If the coaching and play doesn't clean up by the end of this year, I'll have serious questions. Last Saturday is not the end of the world and things could get MUCH better, but it was damn sure reason for some concern and urgency to trickle in. I think after next year or the following year, we better be a pretty solid football team and I think that is the timeline for evaluating Bohl's program. If the wheels completely fall off next year, then that should be considered.
