I'm on board with Team Adam! Smith can run the ball, he has done great things for us this year. But he can't throw and we run the spread, he has missed so many deep balls this year, including one to Mazi today. He has so much heart, and can run the ball well but pittser will make all the throws, if brett remains the QB i cant be mad but he just cant throw it down field

you are jumping on the ship of a guy who hasn't played a down and leaving the the guy who won 8 games?
Perfect example! he can not throw!

he had a bad game asswipe.

it can happen.

Yeah, and a freshman can't get stronger, he's peaked already. Let's toss him under the bus for not being able to toss the 50 yarders as a true freshman, something most freshmen QB do perfectly.

a true freshman can't be money every damn game. someone else needs to step up. We are young, we will get better. things still look great for wyoming and next year.

need more beef up on the DL, that's for sure.

Can't have blind faith....be happy and support whoever is named qb next season...whoever is playing the best at that time.

Well Cowboys still had a great year and I have faith in the Cowboys, Losing McNeil and and some of the other injuries hurt us but we knew that if we were down at the half it was going to be a long game.

Cowboys will be strong next season and while I would have preferred a closer game I still really respect what Smith and the Cowboys did and you haters need to quit hating we would be 3-9 still without Smith.

It's not coaching. I'm seeing lack of effort on the field. It was a cover 4 D and Huff tripped and then gave up.

Huff didn't give up, He slipped on the turn fell down and then got up and still tried to catch him. Slipping happens shit happens maybe he was slightly out of position but slipping wasn't exactly in his control and he certainly didn't give up on the play.

He got up and jogged. Two other Cowboys that were 20 yards further tried to catch the guy, and even beat huff to him.

I'll agree to disagree

It was going to be six anyway.

Saying you dont support smith based on one game is ridiculous. Yea he doesnt have a ton of arm strength, but he is 18 years old and will absolutely get stronger. He made some bad decisions throwing the ball downfield today for sure, but that was definitely uncharacteristic for him. He is a competitor and I am proud to say he is a cowboy. If Pittser comes in and beats him out for the job then so be it, but I would be willing to bet that is unlikely.

Temple is a damn good team and there are few teams out there that we match up to worse than we do to them. The key to this team is developing some DL who can stop the run...we do that and I think we can all expect big things. If the defense plays well, I dont think Smith is in the situation when he tries to do too much and throws picks.

Overall, lets be real. This team won 8 games!!! Who could have foreseen that coming into the season with a freshman QB? Congrats on the season Pokes!

I am having a hard time figuring out why Rufran is still being used...he plays like a scared little girl for the most part. I don't like throwing names out on these kids- but Coach C needs to pull this guy off the field I am sorry. :tickedoff:
Couldn't of said it better slc poke, I have been sayin that all year

Why is it when Rufran caught the 41 yard TD against UNLV no one was screaming take him out? Better yet 3rd and 20 against SDSU he catches the 41 yard pass for the first down which setup a score from the 13? I'd love to see either of you out on the field taking hits.

Seriously we had an amazing season and we got outplayed in a Bowl game don't just start talking players down :(

Yeah but good season pokes! Exceeded everybodys expectations , time to have a nice break from football, and then have a great off season and spring ball

Memo to CDC for off-season and spring ball. TEACH HOW TO TACKLE!!!!!!!!!!!!

I never said I wouldn't support Brett Smith. I will support who ever is our QB I probably didn't phrase what I wanted to say very well and I was pissed. With that said Smth did great things all year and we had a great season Bette than anyone expected. I expect him to get better he has a great work ethic. But I think the QB job is wide open next year and if smith doesn't get it done someone else will. I just dont want the Wyo soph slump to get him (I.e. ACS Sween) I never said I didn't support smith just saying of his arm doesnt get stronger we have no down field threat.

I've been on the field taking hits....he doesn't act like he even wants to be out there half of the time. His touchdown against UNLV he could have walked in on. I'm not just simply talking about one game, the kid doesn't seem like he wants to be out there most games. The only game I feel that he gave a lot of effort in this season was SDSU. I'm not talking players down, simply giving my two cents on evaluating one of our players as they play. I'm not sure if DC is having a hard time motivating him, but he just doesn't seem to get fired up out there.

HOWEVER...

I am absolutley thrilled with our overall team this season. I was expecting maybe a .500 season tops...but these boys went out and played with heart and won those close games to get us to 8 wins. Between this group and the basketball team it's a great time to be a Pokes Fan!!
