Normally I would buy this and watch it but payday isn't until Friday so I won't be buying it, However if someone else buys it and wants me to stream it hit me up and we'll figure something out.
 
Wearing Red to shift the paradox and also eat a bunch of Beer Nuts, as the factory is just down the road, buy more Beer Nuts that may create more need for them to ask for more workers tonight, that may be loud and boisterous at this game tonight....lol......in all seriousness, I think we play them tough but I feel they'll be too much for us, hope i'm wrong
 
why am i so nervous about tonights game, and I'm not playing...lol...what a feeling to have this early in the season....GO POKES, show them you belong there!!!!!
 
two areas of concern for tonights game for me. if we can have improvement in both areas, I see us winning by 7-10 points.

1. Free Throws: Cowboys need to shoot at least 70% tonight. if the game is tight in the last 5 minutes, and it should be... we have to have a better night from the charity line.

2. Shooting Guard Play: Watching Riley against colorado was tough. My heart went out to him... im sure he told coach that he wanted to give it a shot. But he was a liability on the floor. the buffs kept feeding the ball to the guy that riley was covering, trying to drive to the bucket around his injury... I don't think riley plays tonight, at all, and if he does he wont be at full capacity. So how then will adams and sobey play? adams had a very solid night against the buffs... will it continue, or will a road challenge be a little over his head?

adams has the ability to blow by anybody, he's like a two year old thoroughbred colt. ive noticed that he has a knack for jumping passes around the top of the key for steals. he's hard to beat laterally... but he's chippy and will over-commit and hand check at times defensivly

turn-overs and clock management will be huge tonight. I like our bigs against anybody. hopefully nance isn't too sick to perform. there is a huge dropoff from nance to halderson. we need larry on the floor.

No team should EVER shoot less than 80% from the stripe. Free throws will win or lose games for you. There's a reason they're called free throws, they're a FREE SHOT! No one in your face, no worrying about coming in too fast, just set and shoot. These guys are high level division one college basketball players. There is absolutely NO reason they should shoot less than 80% from the line as a team!
 
Pumped for the game tonight! A very tough test for the Pokes but one I am looking forward to see how they handle.

Illinois State was picked to finish 2nd in the MVC behind favorite Creighton. This team could easily be undefeated right now, with close losses coming to Northwestern and Lousiville. Illinois State is, without question, an NCAA tournament team.

Player to Watch: #32 Jackie Carmichael - A rugged senior forward, Carmichael reminds me of a more physical Andre Roberson. This guy does it all...scores, rebounds well, and is a force on the defensive end. Watching Carmichael and Leonard battle in the paint is going to be a treat. The winner of that match-up will go a long ways in determining the winner of this game. Right now, Carmichael looks like he has a strong chance to be drafted in next year's NBA draft.

While Carmichael is the most well rounded basketball player for Illinois State, another player to watch is senior guard, Tyler Brown. He is playing in his second year with the Redbirds after transferring in from Marshalltown CC. This guy does one thing very well...score the rock. He can light it up with his jump shot and finish at the rim. I'm sure Shyatt will make it point to keep a hand in this guys face at all times, but he is good enough to go off even with good defensive pressure. If Brown gets hot early, it could be a long night for the Pokes. Don't be surprised if Brown ends up having his name called in the NBA draft next year along with Carmichael.

The Cowboys will need to play nothing less than their best game of the year to come out of Normal, Illinois with a win tonight. The Pokes won't see many teams this year with as much talent as Illinois State has.
