Last 4 years of UW recruiting, 20 3 star commits or higher.
Last years recruiting class for Nebraksa, 24 3 star recruits or higher.

I look a little more into recruiting than most, but you boys better hope your first stringers do not get winded becuase you cannot be deep at all. Goodluck in this weeks game.

So...you think Wyoming, who trains a snap-every-15-to-18-seconds-offense at over 7200 ft, is going to roll into Lincoln at 1170 ft and get tired...WTF? Seriously....I dont see stamina being an issue

I think he is trying to demonstrate that the N on their helmet stands for Nowledge.

You are right. I was using them as evidence that UW is not a deep team. Not going off the rankings to pick a winner. I will say, rankings actually may win championships, 3 of the past 4 years.

I guess we agree then? Agree that there are many more factors to winning a national championship than "just" having a bunch of 3* ranked 18 year olds commit to attend school somewhere?

Chasing Martinez 80 yards at either elevation would make any trained athlete tired... joking. I was not coming over to start a S%#t storm, just think depth will be UW's reason for not keeping it close.
Goodluck this weekend.

The objective is not to "chase"...but to tackle. Perhaps if Nebraska would have grasped that concept against Wisconsin, then they would not have been blown out by a 7-5 team...and given up 70 points. Just saying.

BOOM!

You are right one-smoothe-poke. We got embarrassed on National Television to a 7-5 squad who shouldn't have even been there. Lucky for the Pokes, they dont know what National Television is or what station it's on.
It was a blessing that only 21,728 Poke fans had to endure that tough loss to Cal Poly last year. Good luck at home this year to Northern Colorado. :thumb:

Peeps-

Please be realistic.

Nebraska is better than Wyoming. Let's take the glasses off. Could UW pull off an upset? Maybe. Likely? No.

Put this to bed.

Nothing wrong with rooting for the home team on the home team board. In fact, I'd rather predict a win that piss all over myself.

It is comical to me to think that it will be this major blowout that the Huskers are predicting. Nebraska does not have a very proven d, sure they may have a good pass efficiency defense, but that is in the big 10 where they still haven't found out about the invention of the forward pass. Wyoming has a top 15 quarterback, and a deep and talented receiving core so they will put up some points against the defense. Nebraska has a good offense, but they lost their top running back of the last four years and that will not be easily replaced. Nebraska came to Wyoming two years ago against a way worse team and a way worse defense and put up 38 points, to think they will be putting up 50+ against a better team is laughable. Nebraska is the better team and there is no doubt about that, and they will more than likely win this game, but Wyoming will keep it close through most of the game, and will be in the game in the 4th. Without a bias I would have to say this game being Nebraska 38 Wyoming 28 with Nebraska pulling away late in the 4th.

Oh I agree. But to say that UW football is even close to the same caliber of Nebraska football isn't reality. From the fan following, to facilities to overall football feel. I am die hard brown and gold. But the UN fans have a point when they mock us about losing to Cal-Poly and Toledo, etc. Whn we stop pissing ourselves, I will concur. Until then, I have to admit UN is better in the football world.

Our Defense wasn't proven last year. A lot of you are saying we lost all our "proven" players - we didn't. We lost players with experience, but nobody is mourning those losses. We're young and inexperienced, but we're faster and more athletic across the board, and the secondary is veteran.

Our secondary has made mincemeat out of top 15 quarterbacks over the last few years. Check here for proof: http://www.huskerboard.com/index.php?/topic/55555-bo-pelinis-quarterback-graveyard-2012-edition/

Rex Burkhead is a once in a lifetime player, but on the field he already has been replaced. Here's the runningback stats from last year:

Burkhead - 98 attempts - 675 yards - 6.9 ypc
Ameer Abdullah - 226 attempts - 1137 yards - 5.0 ypc

Two years ago Taylor Martinez was an uhealthy sophomore and this offense was three games old.

How was the team two years ago that went 8-5 way worse than one coming off a 4-8 season? Don't buy that much.

Vegas has the line set at -28.5, and its been rising for three weeks. Vegas....or the opinion of a hardcore Wyoming fan? Which is more objective...... :|

And Vegas has never been very good at predicting odd's when it comes to Wyoming. I seem to remember a 24 point underdog Wyoming team going up against UCLA in the Vegas Bowl. I put a ton on Wyo to win and also to cover. Its the first game of the year. Vegas odd's makers are historically wrong on their odd's on the first game of the year.

Question for you Pokes - Does Smith run well? If the pocket breaks down and he has to run for it, is he a threat to take it to the house?

I wish NU would over look us, like they did in 1994, we all know lots of things have to happen for us to have a shot, but if it does happen I'm gonna be there in Lincoln, celebrating like no other. Taylor Martinez still doesn't impress me, unless he's vastly improved from when they came here and from what I saw last year. What's funny about when NU fans get on here, they always want to throw stats at ya, dudes, we know you're good, just not Top 10 type good, 18-19 is right where you belong, but 1st game of the season anything can and may happen, that's why I'm happy its the 1st game of the season. Brett Smith has gotten better from what I've heard in the pocket, but his main weapon is his legs when it breaks down, he's like a 3 RB from the backfield, not super speedy but will surprise you, and takes a licking like a RB not a QB that folds like an lawn chair when he gets hit.
GO POKES, be respectable in Lincoln!!!

No. Tell the defensive coordinator to blitz everytime.
