I like how CB said that they don't know where they are supposed to go on D, but are getting there quickly. Speed on D is important in our conference.

QB Watch: Bohl praises Kirkegaard's maturity, evaluates freshmen

Four days into Wyoming football's fall camp, we're already starting to see some shifting and reorganizing at the crowded, hotly-debated quarterback position.

Wyoming's next great starting quarterback, whoever he may be, will be asked to produce in different ways than Brett Smith did in his spectacular three-year run in Laramie.

It's the same position, but with a more conservative, deliberate twist.

I'm sure glad to hear Stanton's injury was not a torn or ruptured achilles tendon - that would have probably ended his career.

Bohl also reported that starting left tackle Nathan Leddige suffered a concussion during Thursday's practice. The coaching staff will be cautious in working Leddige back into the mix. Until then, junior Austin Traphagan is the top guy at left tackle.

The wording of this makes me laugh, as if the coaching staff has any say on when he can get back into the action.

Florida trio of freshmen defensive backs ready to make impact for Cowboys (WyoSports.net)

They are confident, but not cocky.

They are getting used to the game they love at another level.

They are adjusting to an environment they have not seen before.

And they are a long way from home.

But it is that confidence that has three true freshmen defensive backs from Florida thinking — and hoping — they can make an immediate impact for the University of Wyoming football team this fall.

Notes and Quotes: Wyoming's Friday practice

Now, this is football.

Wyoming practiced in full pads for the first time on Friday morning, stretching inside the Indoor Practice Facility before heading out for more extensive work on Jonah Field.

Here are a few observations from the media's 30-minute access window.

UW fall camp update – Day 5

Craig Bohl was fired-up for a short time.

The first-year Wyoming football coach was getting on his guys, who he thought were coming in late for stretching prior to Friday’s fifth practice of fall camp.

But offensive coordinator Brent Vigen informed Bohl that he was running 10 minutes early. Bohl laughed about it, and then the Cowboys went about their business.

How do you read the "treading water" comment? I guess it is early and that we are still learning - but the connotation that it is tied to injuries is a bit concerning.
