From Wyoming Athletics:

University of Wyoming Athletics Director Tom Burman announced on Wednesday that the University of Toledo and Wyoming have agreed to a two-game series in football. The series will begin on Oct. 2, 2010, when Wyoming will travel to Toledo, Ohio, to take on the Rockets. On Sept. 8, 2012, Toledo will travel to Laramie, Wyo. Toledo is a member of the Mid-American Conference (MAC) West Division. Wyoming and Toledo have never met before in football.

"Toledo is a quality opponent from the Mid-American Conference," said Burman. "They have appeared in four bowl games this decade, and have beaten the likes of Penn State, Minnesota, Navy, Pittsburgh and Kansas since 2000.

"This leaves us with only one date each to fill on our 2010 and 2012 schedules."

Since 1997, when the MAC went to two divisions, Toledo has won or tied for first in the MAC West Division seven times in 11 seasons. During that same time period, the Rockets played in five MAC Championship games and captured two MAC Championships in 2001 and 2004.

In 2000, Toledo traveled to State College, Pa., and defeated Penn State 24-6. That same season, they traveled to Navy and beat the Midshipmen 35-14. The 2001 season saw the Rockets host Minnesota and defeat the Gophers 38-7, as well as host Navy and defeat them for the second consecutive season 21-20. Toledo recorded another big home win in 2003, defeating Pittsburgh 35-31. Most recently, Toledo hosted Kansas in 2006 and captured a 37-31 double-overtime win over the Jayhawks. The past two seasons, Toledo has finished 5-7.

Toledo joins fellow MAC members Ohio and Bowling Green on future Wyoming schedules.
