Stream stopped working for me but sounds like missing 2nd half was not such a bad thing

However. ...haven't they played most teams tough on the island? Were there too many distractions? Still assumed we would win. On to next week

Sorry, but this one stings. A lot.

I'm very disappointed in our secondary tonight. I appreciate them "giving it their all" and "laying it all out there" as the lame cliches go....but they are big boys and can handle criticism. Tonight's performance was putrid and they can take a little heat for it.

Life isn't always about participation ribbons for all. Comes a time to be accountbale. It's ok to fail and learn from mistakes. Now is the time. Plenty of mistakes, buck up and fix them.

You should throw up some video of your awesome secondary skills, so we can hold you accountable of calling those who actually played the game to be ashamed. You can be pissed off about the loss, but STFU about the players being ashamed.

Ashamed may have been harsh. .. embarrassed may be better.

I have old high school flag football footage, but I don't want to put it online in fear I get asked to play again, and my eligibility is done.

Csu's coach was on the Denver TV talking about this same culture at his school. Said their was way too much acceptance of mediocrity going on around him. They did something about it and sit at 5-1 with two wins over P5 schools. We pat each other over the back because we kept it within 50 against Oregon and extend our guy cause he's from Laramie. Bohl's got a big job ahead of him, but I'm out of patience (which isn't his fault).

I predicted Wyoming would finish with 3 wins this year. So right now, they have met my expectations. Any win now is gravy as far as I'm concerned.

Bohl has a lot of work to do, and I'm happy to give him the time it takes to get it done. I think the game last night only illustrates just how bare this cupboard really is. I don't envy Bohl, because right now it looks like a Herculean task to fix this mess. 25 years of mediocrity added to a culture of "we are who we are" equals the mess we all witnessed last night.

I realize that univ of utah players aren't Dave's guys, but to think that Utah is one point from being undefeated. DC bailed and left an inferno behind.

Very true. DC isn't the horrible coach Wyo fans make him out to be. But you can't say that without people freaking out.
But at the same time, DC couldn't figure a way out to even get 1 more score against Wazzu in that 2nd half collapse. Utah would be 6-0 and likely ranked in the Top 15.

You'd frickin' argue the sky wasn't blue. DC was a lousy head coach. He's arguably a great OC, but he couldn't lead a pack of Cub Scouts successfully. Lousy management and motivation skills.

DC was a lousy head coach. He could recruit, but that's not even half of what being a head coach is about. He never developed his players (in fact, they seemed to regress more often than not), never made adjustments (especially at halftime), did not give a shit about the defense at all (having the worst defense in school history under him in a weak MWC says quite a bit), and never took responsibility for his own short comings.

I didn't say DC was a good coach. But he isn't as horrible as many think. His results are going to be just as good if not better than Bohls when it is all said and done.

And remember, this isn't a pro-DC or anti-Bohl thing, this is realizing where Wyo sits in the football world.
And it is a consist average of 5-7 type seasons.

There was only one thing about the game I thought was good: the ROOT announcers - the best pair so far this season. They kept pointing out how the Tampa 2 Poke defense was killing the Pokes on pass coverage. Maybe the Poke defensive backs just weren't up to running that defense. Well for sure they were terrible. Clearly offensive line and defensive backs need to be the recruiting priority, not to mention tackling practice.

Apparently the AFA win was a fluke. SDSU will be squeaker win if it happens, then no more W's the rest of the year.

Our secondary cant' even hang with Hawaii's receivers. Bad coverage. Bad defense.

Hope we can recruit. Cuz, as everybody has said before, we have little talent on this team. 4-5 wins max... no "Bohl" game this year.

Wouldn't dust off the trophy case for the boot yet either...

They kept pointing out how the Tampa 2 Poke defense was killing the Pokes on pass coverage. Maybe the Poke defensive backs just weren't up to running that defense.

We don't have the pass rushers required to run the Tampa 2 effectively. We need to rotate out of that (Cover 2) and send the safety center field. Send the other up into coverage on those intermediate routes. We can line up the same but rotate out after the snap.

If I thought we could get by SJSU with our Cover 2, I would change for the Border War. Our line allows too much time which allows receivers to find holes in our already soft Cover 2.

And have only played one conference game this year. On the rock, they gave a pretty good Washington team fits. Hawaii is going to challenge teams at their place. It wouldn't surprise me to see Nevada or USU drop one there. HI put over 400 yards on WA.

Let's see more than 1 conference game before anointing them as worst team in the conference (sans WYO).

The wheels have not fallen off people.
We can still win out or lose out.
Wyo beat Hawaii by 3 in OT in the middle of Winter in Wyoming last season with arguably the best QB Wyo has ever had who had to shatter several records that day just to get to the win.
This year we don't have that QB (or any comparable qb) and were playing in Hawaii.
Can't be all that surprised.
Plus like someone else said, this team could be 0-6.
Be glad we are 3-3.
Season starts over today.
6 game season, 3 wins gets Wyo to a bowl.
Wyo is still perfect in War Memorial where they play next.

Grind out a win next weekend and let's see how the coaches handle the Border War.

I'm with all this.

One game at a time from the rest of the way out. Qualifying for the postseason is still within reach. No reason to get worked up or discouraged right now. Looking at our schedule, the only very difficult game I see is Utah State. The good news about that one is that it's at home. CSU and Fresno are on the road, but could go either way. Boise is not what they usually are.... and that is at home, too. I think it's manageable. However, the margin for error is relatively small.
