WYO Hoops 2014-15 Articles/Notes/Quotes/Pics/Videos

Amazing highlights. This team played as a team. Funny how the only buckets that don't have an assist are from steals. Okay not literally every single one, but it seems that way!

21 assists on 25 shots.

Only first half unassisted basket was Adams steal and dunk. Sellers (O Reb), Cooke and Lieberman each had one in second half.

Cowboys rout Florida A&M behind play from the bench: with video of McManamen's dunk (WyoSports.net)

“We’ve gone a couple of years where we didn’t get the leads that we needed to be comfortable to allow some of those other guys minutes, but that’s not what happened tonight,” UW coach Larry Shyatt said. “Our starters got us off to a big lead, which allowed our other guys to show what they can do.”

Strong bench play propels Wyoming hoops to 4-0 start

The Wyoming Cowboys are more than five men.

If they weren't, the team's starters wouldn't score just 25 total points in a 21-point victory. Senior forward Larry Nance Jr. -- the Mountain West Preseason Player of the Year -- wouldn't attempt only three shots, score five points, and still walk off of Maury Brown Court wearing a smile.

This season, more than those previous, the Cowboys' strength may be in their numbers.

For Larry Shyatt's team, the bench is an asset, instead of a last resort.

Behind Enemy Lines:

Hatters Continue Western Swing at Wyoming

Freshmen of Influence
With seven scholarship true freshmen on the roster, there is no way for the Hatters to escape the fact that they are a fairly young and inexperienced team. How inexperienced? Stetson is tied with five other schools as having the most scholarship true freshmen in the country. The others: Binghamton, Georgia Southern, St. Louis, Seton Hall, and UTSA.

Bench players giving Cowboys solid play early in season

“I remind those guys every day you could go from 18 minutes (one game) to three, and back to 12 then down to two,” Shyatt said. “This isn’t the NBA. I’m not putting them in at certain marks and then taking them out. I think they understand that. The fact our staff has confidence in four or five of these guys is a good thing.”
