Cowboys basketball living large on the defensive end so far this season (WyoSports.net)

“That’s the biggest reason we’re 5-0 is because our defensive intensity is tremendous across the board,” senior forward Larry Nance Jr. said. “We have a great team full of people that think defense first.”

“They’re really, really active,” UW coach Larry Shyatt said. “They will press us from start to finish, like Colorado wanted to. We’ll have to have our legs for that game.”

Wyoming remains undefeated with win over New Mexico State

“We only really mishandled the ball five or six times,” Wyoming head coach Larry Shyatt said. “I thought we made good decisions attacking, but we couldn’t make too many of those because then we’d be playing a more reckless game that we’re not accustomed to.”

“It’s huge for us to go through that at the beginning of the season because we’re going to face pressure later on,” Adams said. “It’s huge that we were able to handle that.”

Nance-attack: UW senior lifts Cowboys to rugged win against NMSU (WyoSports.net)

“They have five veteran players and a sprinkle of some young ones like us,” UW coach Larry Shyatt said of New Mexico State. “They’ve been through wars, and they will win a lot of games this year. There was a physical confrontation every single possession, whether it was offense or defense.”

“New Mexico State’s a great team, a fast-paced team who loves to get up and out of transition, kind of like the teams we face in our league,” Grabau said. “It was a good preparation for us. We thought we were prepared for it, and we knew what we were going to do.”

NMSU BASKETBALL: Aggies fall short at unbeaten Wyoming

"We drew it up so (Barry) would have that option and they layed off of him," Aggies head coach Marvin Menzies said. "He is scoring the ball, but the way we are playing defense is the most important part. This team (Wyoming) slowed it down and we still scored 70 points. They are a tough team to play."

Who is Clint Parks?
I replied to you on page-2, but you must have missed it. Here was my response:

"He is really good friends with Jeremy Lieberman. He is finishing his classwork at UW (communications, I think). Is/was an AAU coach in Cali (Team Eleate). Seems to have a lot of connections, basketball-wise. Has been working out Lieberman, Muojeke and Martinez on the side recently. Not affiliated with UW basketball, so he can work out current and former Pokes, as I understand it. Obviously knows his stuff."

Wyoming not afraid to adjust tempo depending on opponent

"We knew we had to schedule teams that are not only consistently 20-game winners, but are consistently in postseason play," Shyatt said. "With Colorado, New Mexico State, Denver, SMU, Cal, those were important games for us to prepare for.

"And yes, there was a physical confrontation to every possession [against New Mexico State], as there will be against Denver, possibly the most physical team we play every year. You’re not going to get a post-up without somebody putting you in a confrontation.”

Nance Jr. shows ability to take over a game for Cowboys

“He really takes what is given to him. He’s become a very good passer with a 2-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio (14 assists, seven turnovers). He’s a very good rebounder (a team-high 6.2 per game) inside and outside his span. And last, but not least, a good scorer when that opportunity exists (team-high 14.7 points per game). I think there’s balance in his game, but also think there is a very humble side of him.”
