The recruits are fine. Sellers was a bad call. We could have used a body that might have a chance. Most are extremely young. I think we will be fine. We all thought we would be bad for a few years but kind of got spoiled

What do you base this on? The only three guys who can score are seniors. I think the needle is pointing down on this program.

Really? So Nance doesn't score much? It's true that our 3 leading scorers are all Seniors, but that happens to a lot of teams. We play just as many underclassmen as upperclassmen. Adams, Haldorson, McManamen are all Freshmen and Grabau, Nance, Cooke are all Sophmores. The young guys are developing nicely and in a season or two when Shyatts first class are seniors we can evaluate and see where the program is. It's premature to evaluate them as freshmen or sophmores and say the needle is pointing down on the program. It usually takes a season or two for players to adjust to D1 basketball, unless they are an exceptional talent--Bennet at UNLV--and let's face it those types of players aren't coming to Laramie at the moment if ever. Remember this was going to be a rebuilding period, Shyatt has just spoiled us with some pretty decent basketball and gotten us excited for things to turn around. Be patient, it could be worse we could be 0-9 in conference and 3-20 overall, which is where we would probably be with Schroyer at the helm.

your right 2-7 is better than 0-9 thanks

Jesus people......Wyoming is 2-7 in conference play after starting 13-0.......message boards are often places for fans to vent, better here than in the real world......no need to get pissed.

Anyways, like I said before the game enjoy Leonard Washington. The man is a force. He'll have his moments, but some on.....what player doesn't? Even LeBron James has his moments.

The team's best players were recruited by Schroyer. You're aware of that, right?

Sure, chances are pretty good that seniors are going to be better than a bunch of freshmen and sophmores, that happens pretty regularly. It takes time to develop players, you can't compare a freshman and senior in most cases because the senior is more mature and has more experience, same with a sophmore and a senior. If you want to compare Nance as a senior with Washington this season we can do that in 2 years same with Adams and Gilmore or Adams and Martinez, or Grabau and Gilmore or Martinez. Wasn't it just a little while ago when many were talking about how well Grabau was playing, now he's a waste of a scholarship? Comparing seniors to underclassemen usually isn't a fair comparison. Take a step back and look at things for what they are, a young developing team that will struggle, I'm willing to wait for another year or two before throwing Shyatt under the bus for his lack of recruiting talented players--I remember on a thread where people where hesitant to give McClain much credit for winning when he did it with Shyatt's recruits and not his own, now Shyatt can't recruit quality players?

I don't get why everyone is so high on Grabau. The guy can't shoot.

What a bunch of doom and gloom whinny asses.

Whoops, sorry. I'm glad we're 2-7 with no hope of improving.

SD Poke, it's a losing proposition to argue how bad your team is. I know. I've done it and regretted it.

I share your concerns. I get tired of hearing about all the talent that's on the way or is developing before our eyes. Personally, I don't see it. I've head about all the talent waiting in the wings too many times now. As I posted once before and probably shouldn't now, I will know we are making progress when I'm not wishing we had the other teams players.

We've only been in the ncaa tournament once since 1988. I've given up on us ever making it there again. My hope is that we can somehow consistently avoid the pig tail game in the MWC tournament. If we could make it to the semi finals every 3 or 4 years, that would be an added bonus. If that sounds like a modest goal, consider that since McClain left, we have had a losing conference record every year and we have only made it to the conference semifinals once. I don't want to remember how many times weve lost the pigtail game.

Well said. If it weren't for a cream puff OOC schedule, this would look like a Heath Schroyer team.

Heath would have like 7 wins right now
