Wrestling: Brackets

I see nothing egregious. Want a better seed, win more matches during the regular season. Want to go to the NCAAs, win the matches at the Big 12s.

What is pretty unique is that Jax Forrest is a #1 seed. He was in high school until January... How cool is that?!? That has to be unprecedented.

He also lost to the guy from Cal Baptist...

If he wanted a better seed at the Big 12s, probably should have beat that guy to ensure being seeded over him (instead of #7 and #8 behind him).

Come on man. There is nothing egregious. Go out and win matches at the Big 12s. It is that simple.
 
PS - Gabe Willochell's draw is actually awesome for him. He will likely face the #1 seed in his first match. A #1 seed that is only 10-5 and is ranked a relatively low #9 in intermat's rankings and who does have a first round match.

So Willochell likely has a bye into a very beatable #1 seeded wrester to make the semi-finals. He wins that match and he goes to the NCAAs. Seems to be a pretty damn good draw to me.

I don't disagree with you on the #1 seed though Swiderski is no longer hurt like he was early in the year and took those losses. I am not even saying Gabe should be above Kelley but Rathjen beat One ranked wrestler and doesn't even have a RPI. He should be the last seed in 149.

That is not a knock on Rathjen or UNI but how are you going to tell the guys that have a RPI and coaches ranking that Rathjen is above them?

You are correct 133 goes from 8 to 7 allocations. Frost is no longer eligible for NCAA since he did not wrestle in his conference tourney. His season is now done
 
Wyoming has shown one thing...its wrestlers were seeded to high. What an awful start.

Carroll loses. Both Willochells lose. Hill loses.

Only 2 wrestlers into the semis (Novak and Neitenbach). And Novak escaped with a 7-6 win over #18 ranked guy from WVU.

Everyone else loses.

Wyoming continues its typical fall on their face at the Big 12s under Branch. I don't understand.
 
Jared Hill was teched 20-3. Riley Davis lost 17-4. Luke Willochell lost 8-1. Gabe Willochell lost 7-2.

None of the guys they lost to are expected to be competing in the semi-finals at the NCAAs. But we aren't really close.

Hope they come back really mad in the wrestle backs and all show something.
 
I had to look up the NDSU wrestler that Carroll lost to 4-1. He is 10-12 on the year and has been teched by pretty much every higher ranked heavyweight. Carroll previously beat him by MD 11-3 in the dual. He was also pinned in 30 seconds by the same Penn State wrestler that Carroll beat.

Wow.
 
Other than Carroll losing, everything else has gone according to seed. Sucks Carroll lost, but other than that nothing out of the ordinary happened. And Davis got an upset the match before. getting blown out does suck though, would love to see more pride and fight.
