Who thinks Burman is any good?

Is there a way to drop a jpg in here? It's a chart showing facilities spending for Wyoming vs Boise since 2005.

Again, I'm not saying facilities spending equals winning. It's more complex than that. But there's a correlation. They outspent us 4:1 in 2024.
In what direction does the causation flow? Up until recently, you had to win to justify the increased spending. Winners are popular...they attract attention. You might try to jumpstart some success by upgrading a stadium or making a splashy hire but it's not like that directly equalled wins. I can't think of a winner in college football that didn't have high spending....I think you can name a lot of high spenders that don't win. I would say that the latter are the ones focused on administrating a program at the expense of concentrating on comptetive excellence.

Ironically...nowadays you may actaully be able to buy a very successful year with large payments directly to players.

It's awful. I've been repeating this on here since the year after the AA reseating. It would be extremely simple to have a portal set up to donate the tickets back so they can be distributed to the Boys and Girls Club, Laramie High School, etc.. This would be the easiest way to build the Cowboy fanbase (because I, as well as many others, became Cowboy fans by being a poor middle/high school student purchasing $5 knot hole tickets back in the day).

The worst part is - they have already created a simple feature on the App to SELL your tickets through Seat Geek but have absolutely refused an obvious donation option. Instead, the AA and War have been ruined. Congrats Athletic Department!!
And selling them, gets the seats filled with opposing fans. UNLV and SJSU were both all around us, and it becomes a bit much...

Boise built a winner first, then guess what? Then all sorts of money for facilities followed. Weird concept, I know.

That brings up an interesting question. What is more likely to contribute to winning, attendance or revenue? My guess is revenue, but I don't have any evidence of that.
That is good question, but I believe attendance. Winning breeds high attendance, high attendance breeds more fans and more fans means more revenue

Yeah, CSU is a perfect example of spending not equaling winning. But it did help get them into what they perceive as a better conference.

I'll also say that winning to me is contending for conference championships, regardless of whatever conference you're in. That's why I won't call Craig Bohl's tenure a success. He was better than where we were, but wasn't overall successful.

All of the empty seats you're complaining about are sold, so ticket sales don't = attendance.
A person actually in attendance increases revenues. But more importantly, lower west stand season tickets are sold - - not the other roughly 40 percent of tickets subject to individual game ticket sales.

You and I share a very different perspective on ‘better.’ In fact, if by ‘better’ you actually mean dog 💩, than we agree.
