Who gets canned 1st DC or Burman?

100% spot on. My single biggest fear. If the Burman shit-show doesn't end first, we are in trouble on the gridiron for many, many years to come.

Hopefully both, together.

I would actually agree with you except that the process of hiring an AD takes several months, which means UW would either have to wait several months with no new head coach (very bad idea) or Sternberg would hire the new coach or assemble a hiring committee to do so (not ideal but not as bad as the first option). I would much rather get a new AD in place and let that individual head the hiring process.

it would be best for Burman to get it 1st because then maybe we'll get a true Head Coach that wants to really be here and prove himself, I think DC's tired and understanding how hard it is here at UW

No head coach worth anything would take a coaching position where he doesn't know who his AD is going to be.

So, my answer is - you'll know if Burman's staying when DC is fired, first.

Burman will fire Christensen. If he doesn't, Sternberg will fire Burman, then fire DC himself. After Burman fires Christensen, Sternberg will evaluate Burman and probably cut him loose. We will probably be looking at a new AD by February and a new HC around March.

I hope that timeline isn't anywhere near accurate. If we don't have a new head coach until March you can kiss any hopes of a recruiting class goodbye this year. Not to mention any decent candidate will be long gone by then. And if we are going to have a new AD by February then they better fire him soon because that process usually takes several months.

This timeline would kil recruitment for this year. Its why CU hired the coach before firing the AD

It would be insane to fire both the fb coach and the AD. If they both have to go, first fire the AD, then let the new one get in place for a year and then fire the coach. Honestly, I think it is a crime if we are not talking to Tiller about the AD job. He has all the connections we need. Tons of Wyoming connections, big ten, knows all the coaches in the country, NFL connections, knows the challenges Wyo faces. Who would be better?

And he strives for excellence, but I think he's pretty happy being retired and fishing.

I believe Burman has been on borrowed time since the Schroyer extension. The epitome of the good 'ol boy / BIL / buddy system gone terribly wrong.

HR...hate to say this, but I think recruitment is already dead for this year. Just as it was in 2008. And 2003. Etc.

Our 2008 class wasn't terrible. But if we don't bring in a coach by the end of december we will be screwed.

I can't confirm 100% right now (and don't have the energy to do so) - but of the 24 recruits that year, I believe only 8 finished their careers as UW. Could be off one or two, but that 33% would indicate the 2008 (to play in 2009) class of DC's was horrific.

Oh, and one last thing - 4 of those 8 were Marty English recruits. OUCH! :tickedoff:

I believe Doctson and ACS were in that class. The fact that they left doesn't mean they were bad players. I'd say it means that most of those players didn't like DC or didn't like Laramie, or both.

Very true, but it is all the same IMO. AA and Shamwow were also in that class. Point is, less than 1/3rd of that class finished their careers at UW, and 4 of those (Marty's Kids) probably wouldn't have come here in the first place.
