Not surprised. I'm sure the financial gap between the two conferences will widen even further over time. That will eventually result in a significant talent gap, especially in today's college athletics landscape of being able to buy talent without any salary cap restrictions in place.

I'm honestly surprised to see so many fans of the leftover MWC teams doing mental gymnastics to convince themselves that somehow the MWC is the better conference or at least at the same level as the PAC. By pretty much every objective measurement that I see, the PAC is clearly set up to be the better of the two conferences.

I will say that I think the PAC is delusional in thinking what they have is enough to get them into the "upper echelons" of the college football hierarchy. I think the PAC teams and MWC teams all end up at the same level - whatever that is once things get worked out over the next decade. But I do think the PAC will, on average, be quite a bit better than the MWC if everything stays the same.

Exactly the situation Mr. Burman--you allowed a massive slide for UW Athletics and it starts with Wyo becoming prey at FOCO this Fall's opener! And for what; to preserve a rivalry or maybe an attempt to stay "somewhat" relevant in the Front Range.

Don’t overlook that major game with NoCo in Laramie.

I am absolutely convinced the front range will take note of our presence if we eke out a win over the Big Sky team proving Wyoming is firmly qualified to reside with the bottom dwellers of the G6 conferences.

I do think given all the moving parts and all the expenses of traveling back east for "conference" games for all these sports, that the PAC12 plays a larger roll in the changing college athletics landscape than what most do. I am not sure what that looks like? Cal and Stanford dump the ACC? Cal, Stanford, UCLA join for all sports besides football and men's basketball? UNLV, Hawaii and UNM or some combination get membership? UConn becomes basketball only member (which goes against what i just said above)? Memphis and UConn join? Again not really supporting what i said above, but clearly the PAC12 has more to offer than the MWC and is the "best" league exclusively in the Mountain and Pacific time zones. There is a certain geographical advantage that no other league has.
