What to see in Laramie?

I will be traveling with a few others for the Northern Illinois game.

We will be arriving in town early Friday and attending Saturday's game.

None of us have been to Laramie. Any things to see or take in? Noted these restaurants in the area. We have a few members who are gluten free.

Crowbar and Altitude are good options. Prairie Rose has great breakfast burritos. Sweet Mellisa’s isn’t on your list, but they have awesome vegetarian options. You should drive about 20 minutes east of Laramie and go to a place called Vedavoo. (It’s spelled wrong) Cool hiking and amazing scenery. Make sure you are in the bars downtown on Friday night. The Western Thunder Band will be traveling from bar to bar.

Altitude's is a great place. Greg and Karen hired me to open that place back in 1999. I worked at Lovejoys while going to school back then and had a few years experience as an executive chef from an previous life and created the first menu for Altitude's. Brewpoke was the original brewer....that dude made some great beer. I believe (from my last trip to the area) that they may still have a couple of John's brews still in rotation....he'll let me know if I'm wrong.

Don't hold yourself to just Laramie. Head up to the Snowies and Libby Flats to see some views you may never see again.

Sybille Canyon (US-34) you can generally see some elk near the fence. If you have never seen those up close it will be an awesome experience for you.

You are missing out on the Buckhorn and the bullet hole story, heck get a few bloody's in you morning of game day and do the Buckhorn Roll. If they do Breakfast at the Buck that is a good place to start. Prairie Rose gets PACKED on Sunday's so just be there around opening.

Also just be in any bar downtown on Friday night and the pep band will swing by and fire up the crowd.
