What really sucks about the next game

It's like when BYU plays CSU and you would like to figure out some possible way for both to lose. I really want the Pokes to win but I also want TCU to go to a BCS Bowl and do like Utah did last year and Bitch slap a BCS team. :brick:
 
Don't say that outloud, I can't help you now that you put in writing... :)

However, I'm in the same boat. A TCU win would make the MWC better as a whole and do more for our conference, but god damn wouldn't it be nice for the Pokes to spoil TCUs perfect season. Quite the catch 22.
 
I will be cheering for the Pokes from start to finish I just wish there was some way to beat the laws of Science and do both. :mrgreen:

Until the game clock on Saturday reads 0:00, I am cheering for Wyoming. Once the clocks hits 0:00 I am on the purple frog bandwagon.
 
Screw TCU, I don't want to see other MWC teams do well...I WANT TO SEE THE POKES DO WELL! If we could pull an upset over TCU, Wyoming would be all over the news. Recruits would definitely take notice!

I agree with calpoke here. I'm all for Wyoming pulling what would probably be the biggest upset in college football this year. But, if they don't, then I'm all for the Frogs going to the BCS and kicking ass there, and with a lot of luck possibly getting a shot at the title game. I'm only going to be bummed if the week after we fall to the sheep.

I also agree with this somewhat as well. First and foremost I want the Pokes to do well. However, I also think when teams like Utah and TCU do well and go to BCS games it may reflect well more directly on those programs, but I think it also helps the conference as a whole look better, especially in this case where in 2 consecutive years the MWC could have a team in the BCS, and that its a different team than before.
 
The Pokes realize that TCU finishing high in the BCS and maybe even playing in the championship game is important for the MWC. That is why they secretly made a deal with the Frogs to let the Frogs win on the condition that it not be by more than 3 points.
 
In-conference I cheer for my team above everything else.

Out of conference you are silly if you don't cheer for other MWC teams.

I hope every single MWC team, (gulp even the sheep) go 4-0 out of conference. It is great for our conference when our teams do well. It would be even HUGE for our conference to get another team like TCU into the BCS.
But they have to get by Wyoming first. Once they do, they get my stamp of approval.

Our conference is fighting an uphill battle against the BCS and we need everything out of conference we can get. I do think the MWC is getting close to getting into the BCS though.
 
Pokes first!!!

Not one part of me would like to see TCU win next Saturday. Only after Saturday, if TCU is in a position to bust the BCS, then I'm behind them all the way. Only because Wyoming hasn't been in position to win the league title have I supported TCU up to this point.
 
It's easier for me to get behind a team like TCU than it is Utah or BYU. Just that fact that TCU is not located in Utah makes it easy. On that note.. Pokes all the way. If they lose, it's not the end of the world, and the MWC looks better as a whole. Gary Patterson's comments after the Utah win were thoughtful and he knows exactly where the Frogs are. He knows that TCU has to go into Laramie and possibly face a tough road game, not because just the Pokes, but because of the elevation, snow, cold, wind.. Saturday's going to be a battle, I expect this game to be much closer than the BYU game.
 
Well it can't get much worse than the BYU game. I think Wyoming matchs up a little better against TCU than TCU. BYU just has our number like no other right now. We can hope for a letdown, since TCU could be thinking ahead to the BCS, but Patterson is an excellent coach and motivator. They shouldn't drop off too much.

We have nothing to lose and should play as so.

I think TCU may be the best team in the country though. They look REALLY good. I'm just hoping we cover the 28 point spread.
 
During the TCU - Utah game, the commentators mentioned that TCU would play lights out in their remaining games and run up the scores as much as possible, because it's their only shot at getting SOME recognition and at least have SOME kind of an argument for getting to the national championship if both Florida and Alabama get upset (or Texas, for that matter).

Since we're a common opponent of both TCU and Texas there WILL be some comparisons made between their performances against us.

I will cheer for Cowboys, but I won't blame TCU if they keep trying to score after they've put up 50 on us.

Agree 100%. UW first, always & forever. And a 39th share of 9 million is wonderful (231K) sure, but no amount is ever good at the expense of a UW loss.
 
Go Pokes! TCU will never be able to score enough points to make the win look good in the eyes of the pollsters anyway. Whats really amazing to me though is that this is the second top 5 team we will have had in Laramie this year. Not many teams in the nation can say that.
 
I am so over all this how good it will be for the conference if TCU wins. Maybe its just me, but the Pokes always come before the conference. I hope we beat the tar out of the Frogs. I do believe that the MWC is better than the Big East, and deserves a yearly Automatic BCS bid, however I think the BCS is just doing the MWC lip service with the whole 4 year evaluation process. If TCU escapes Laramie with a win then I will start rooting for them to win out and get a BCS shot. Until then the Frogs are a good team, and one that I we show up and knock down a peg.

No more of this "I won't feel so bad if TCU wins" talk on this board! Take that crap to the mwc board if you must, but here TCU is the enemy. I'm expecting a win on Saturday, no less. We have had the frogs' number in Laramie since they came into the conference, and I expect that trend to continue. GO POKES!!!

I wouldn't say 2005 was having their number. We never seemed to recover as a program from that loss at home against TCU. We were returning a lot from the Vegas Bowl team, off to a great 4-1 start getting votes in the polls. Had we won that game we would have moved into the top 25. But they beat us with our 7 turnovers and we never recovered.
