Headliner game of Oregon vs PSU will be interesting.
Huge Vandy fan this week
Lobos have a rivalry game but should take care of business.
Don't give a shit game Wish they both lose: csu vs wsu.

I can see why North Texas wants to start 2026 with a road trip against Indiana. The Hoosiers look legit!!!! For once. Only won 2 Big Ten titles ever!!!!!!

I'm of the belief UNT started that whole mess with swapping opponents with Indiana, us, and Fort Fart.

Denver Post writer this morning calling for CSU Jay Norvell to be fired after lCSU oss to WAZZU. Above the fold page 1 sports section. Who does this next Sunday if the Pokes lose to UNLV at home?. CSU was in a bowl game last year. The Pokes were 3-9.

We should not lose to either CSU or AFA this year. AFA gave up 44 points to Hawaii on Saturday, which was actually an improvement on their first 2 conference games where they gave up 49. Hawaii's QB threw for 450 yards.

Maybe it goes like this:

Ring ring.

CSU: “Hi Tom. CSU here. I got a great deal for you. Swap UNT for playing us. We will pay you the low FCS level fee since you can travel by bus same day if you want to save even more and keep the gate revenue. We will let you keep the gate revenue for your home games. You know how it goes, I am simply trying to find W’s because we are under a lot of pressure to perform in the Pee12. Maybe Sawful will have you competitive by 2036 and it will be highly profitable.”

Tom: “Awesome man. I have always felt so guilty about the 2012 and 2013 seasons playing in Laramie. I also didn’t get to hang out in the Fort with my buddy Jack and then he was terminated.”

CSU: “Sending you the contract and hopefully you will have a very long career in Laramie with numerous opportunities to travel to the Fort. We really enjoy the amount of money brought in by the flocks of Wyoming fans who travel to the Fort. Our fans find it deplorable to go to Laramie so we feel this is a win win situation since us playing in Laramie doesn’t really generate any more income for you than a program like UNT.”

Tom: “Consider it a deal. I’m also open to accommodating you in the future as necessary because I know our fans love to get the hell out of Wyoming and travel to other destinations.”

I don’t believe the contract is even that good for Wyoming. FCS schools typically get a $500,000 guarantee and travel expenses to play a MWC team. Wyoming is getting nothing for going to Fort Collins I believe (other than very minor travel expenses and a meaningless 2036 game).

For example, Colorado State paid Northern Colorado $400,000 this year (plus travel expenses) to go from Greeley to Fort Collins. Wyoming gets $0 (plus minor travel expenses) according to the information released.

But I’ve seen nothing but cheerleaders in the media for this ‘deal.’ Unless CSU magically gives Wyoming a 2027 home game, it would have to be about as bad of a business deal as one could make but will go completely unchecked or questioned.

There’s a really big difference here.

CSU was smart enough not to give Norvell a fully guaranteed contract. Norvell’s contract runs through December 2026 They could save over a million on the contract by firing him this year (a buyout of $1.5 million).

Wyoming owes Sawvel the full contract amount whether they fire him tomorrow or wait until November 2027. By firing Sawvel before the contract ends, Wyoming saves $0 but does have to then go out and pay an additional coach and staff.

This is the brilliance of Wyoming AD and administration.

All for a guy that was not in demand, had no other suitors for his services, had never been a head coach, was hired without a real search (IMHO), and had few (if any) fans clamoring for him to lead the program (which would have otherwise led to some pressure on TB to hire him, like he had with Sundance, who had turned around a crap program and actually been a HC).

This was a hire cloaked in a purported desire for continuity and preserving a roster in the NIL/transfer portal free-for-all era. That being the case and recognizing all the other issues with this hire, it should have been for half the salary, minimal guaranteed pay, and a very short term. Why we continue to negotiate against ourselves and punch ourselves in the nards is beyond me.

More bizarre was that raise Burman got. Doubling his pay NOBODY else is paying him $551k per year to be athletic director and make these type of decisions anywhere and drive the program into lower levels.
