I won't be able to watch the full length of the video, but given how she was introduced in that video as one of the finalists rather than the next President, is this interview from before she was selected?
Yes, it's from Dec 9

While I thought her saying she's a Ram through and through was bizarre, I have to disagree on this one. I thought she gave a good answer to this question about balancing academics and athletics.

I didn't find that depressing at all. I thought it was a good answer at a student forum.

This doesn't bother me at all. I think her putting more out about academics is a good thing. Just don't want a Ram running Wyoming.

She seems a bit out of her league...and the "Ram through and through" things makes me want to puke. Her CV would be more in line with running Northern Colorado or Chadron State. I didn't like comb over guy from Tech...his job hopping really bothered me. The RIT fellow seemed a bit wonky, but really seemed to align with where we need to head to make Wyoming better...and not only UW...the whole state. His expertise in STEM impressed me.

Agree with your assessment. And as I have thought further about this, I had to chuckle that these 3 were the finalists for the job. Please, please, somebody...anybody...where is the next Phil...

"Dubois has been a strong supporter of the UW intercollegiate athletics program. During his installation remarks, he stressed that quality athletic programs can reinforce quality academic programs by helping to recruit students who otherwise would not have considered the University of Wyoming and by enhancing the University's reputation within the state and across the country. As president, he has reinforced UW's historic commitment to integrity and equal opportunity in intercollegiate athletics while supporting efforts to become increasingly competitive in on-field performance and marketing."

If it wasn't for his age, I'd start a "Draft Al (Simpson)" movement...

We need a Wyoming alum who went on to grad school somewhere like Harvard or Yale to bring some vision into Backwater Hall.

If I find the fountain of youth I'd give it to Al or Pete before I gave it to myself.

Inexplicable. Imagine CSU hiring a new President and that person says that they went to Wyoming, and gee golly; "they're a Cowboy...through and through."

She comes off as somewhat of a loon, I find her entire presence very disturbing, that smile is creepy, and watching the videos leaves me feeling utterly depressed as a Wyoming fan.

This is our new President?

Can Dick McGinty stay one more year?

What is it with this University and Presidents?

I'm still cringing with the thought of her fist pump and the entire Ram mention.

Wow.

I haven't watched the videos but someone mentioned they were from before she was hired. Correct? If thats the case its not too big of a deal saying she is ram. She wasn't yet our president. Why should she have loyalty to a school that at that moment she had no ties to. Now she probably should have followed with, if I become your president I will be a cowboy through and through(or something to that effect)
Now this is not an endosemnt or support for our new president. I don't know much about her. I'm gonna wait and see what happens once she is on the job but this incident is a non-story in my mind.

The video was part of her interview (yes, prior to being mistakenly hired), for the President, for the University of Wyoming. If it was part of her interview for being the President of CSewe, then great - that works. But it wasn't.

We compete with CSewe on way to many fronts for this to just be brushed under the rug. And to answer your question, she shouldn't have loyalty to UW (specifically I guess), but she shouldn't get all orgasmic about how she is a Ram through and through. That is just plain idiotic, dumb, and stupid (particularly and especially for somebody with her level of education and experience). She should have said nothing...but she took it past that, and made the statement.

I think Wyoming is weeding me out. First a lazy and incompetent AD (with a multitude of million dollar mistakes), and now, this gem. What's next? Probably dropping football. Or eliminating the college of Arts & Sciences.

What's more alarming to me is that this was during her interview and SHE STILL WAS HIRED!

How can the Board of trustees hear this comment during her interview and still vote her in as president?! She also mentioned other CSU rams in the room? I feel like the enemy is running our University from within. Makes me sick to my stomach. The hiring of this president isn't the problem, the real problems lie within the BOT. The BOT doesn't have to be held accountable! They can't get voted out, it's an exclusive club of ignorance with no consequences.

If anyone expected much from this hire, they shouldn't be too surprised they went with a company woman Kool Aid drinker. They want someone to keep the status quo and not rock the boat or ruffle the BOT's feathers

Love this, love that, love being an educator, Love The Rams...Wow, not only a love fest shes got fat ankles and is a downright disaster as a hire for our UW. I'm completely unimpressed. Giving the nod to someone with a purely educational leaning in light of our strong tradition in engineering, business, and geology are entirely questionable. This BOT and Governor should be embarrassed after a long and arduous process in the selection of this position. Can't wait to see her in Green and White at the WAR on game-day.

Really, we shouldn't have expected too much. After the Sternberg fiasco, and with severance taxes in the dumper, what highly-sought-after leader could we get?

I agree that the Sternberg ordeal is and will be an anchor on the University of Wyoming's leadership (bot's) & history for a long time. Every one of our bot should have resigned after that mess. Hiring the president of UW should have been right at the top in priorities in the State of Wyoming as far as money goes and they have the money to hire a top candidate. There are no excuses.

The actual pay is probably the secondary problem. The primary one is what up-and-comer wants to be known for successfully cutting budgets and programs? No, they want to be known driving great growth and capital improvements because that is what will get them hired at the next level (NC Charlotte, anyone?). It shouldn't be too much of a surprise we got a provost as a new President instead of a foundation executive.
