Waylee entering the portal

I'm either ignorant or just totally drawing a blank but has anyone ever transferred from Wyoming and then come back? Not sure I can think of an example anywhere else leaving and then coming back.
I am not aware of any player who has actually left, played at another program, and then came back to be part of the Wyoming program again.

There have definitely been several Wyoming players who have put their names into the transfer portal and had to be re-recruited (aka paid) in order to stay at Wyoming. John-Michael Gyllenborg is probably the most recent example of that...my understanding is that he had lots of transfer offers, including some Big 10/SEC offers. Not sure what we had to pay him to keep him here.

The one thing that bothers me about Neyor (and I do wish him well in Green Bay) is that he was a Texas kid probably dying for an opportunity to play for the 'Horns. Hometown kid wasn't good enough...never gave him a look to my knowledge. If I were Neyor, the last team I would ever play for would be Texas. He toyed with Tennessee and Ole Miss.

Kind of like if Josh Allen would have left Wyoming to play at Fresno State after being completely irrelevant to them. I could not have done that.

If someone offers you a million dollars, the decision becomes more straight forward.

We can hash and re-hash this over and over but the Josh Allen story would likely not have been the same had NIL been in place in 2016/2017.

Neither would the Fennis Dembo, Eric Leckner, Jay Novacek, etc. stories had NIL existed in the 80s

I agree but I feel like this is a different issue. The issue isn't why/whether he should have left Wyoming. I get it. The issue is that Tennessee and Ole Miss were probably also offering NIL $$$ and he went to Texas....the team than shunned him. My guess is that Josh Allen would have left Wyoming, too. But I cannot imagine he accepts an offer from Fresno State with other offers on the table. It's pure speculation on my part. Of course if Texas is offering 5x what Tennessee was offering....but I find that tough to believe.

How was he shunned by Texas?

Neyor was not a highly recruited athlete coming out of high school. His only other offers outside of Wyoming were from Henderson State, Incarnate Word, and Western Illinois. It wasn't like he was a well know commodity and Texas simply turned their nose up at him. He couldn't even get a sniff from a program like Texas State or UTSA at the time.
