Good to hear... and it will be good to actually hear it too. They need a lot more crowd involvement to make it more exciting to go to games. I REALLY want to see crowds at War Memorial averaging 25k and more every season. I know people have to come in from far away, but if they can show up for the Texas game, they CAN show up for every game, right?
I think they should take a look at what some pro teams do in different sports. Colorado Mammoth would be a good example. I've never been myself to one of their games, but apparently the experience is what sells the Pepsi Center out night after night (and the cheap tickets along with a short season), rather than just the Lacrosse team itself. In 2008, they averaged more people than both Avalanche and Nuggets.
Do NOT look at the Colorado Avalanche of the last few years... no crowd interaction at all, pretty much, and only occasional chants from the crowd. I think they'll get better as they seem to be focusing on making it a more exciting experience this season, but we'll see.
Some people also tell me that Air Force games (@ Air Force) are a lot of fun. Could we maybe take a page out of their book?
Anyways, the main point of my post is that I want a lot more people to show up to War Memorial, and that these people are both loud and proud, making it difficult for ANY opponent, including BCS teams like Nebraska and Mizzou who are coming in in the next few seasons.
