Upset Saturday MWC and Wyo Bowl Implications!

This weeks games have upset central written all over them. As it sits BSU could actually see themselves moving up as many as 3 spots if the games end with current scores and with another game just starting if they were all losses BSU could move from 10th to 6th.

College Recap

Friday, November 18 2011

Iowa State stuns No. 2 Oklahoma St. in 2nd OT 37-31

Saturday, November 19 2011

N Carolina St stuns No. 7 Clemson 37-13

No. 18 Michigan stomps No. 16 Nebraska 45-17

11:00 remaining in the 4th USC on top of Oregon #4 38-27

1:15 remaining in the 3rd Baylor #22 on top of OU 31-24

5:01 remaining in the 1st California on top of Stanford #9 10-7

So games that are over already #2 and #7 both drops games. BSU should move up 1-2 spots could move up more. #4 and #5 are both currently losing. If they both lose BSU could potentially see themselves as high as #5-6.

Houston obviously will move up as well but we have seen those times where non AQ teams end 12-0 and never see the top 2 spots.

I hate to say it but this comes down to Wyoming more than anything. It's going to be the same as it was for Nevada last year. You beat BSU and you move them down and move yourself to a lower Bowl game. A lot of implications riding on these late games right now.

WOW Oregon comes back to have a chance to send the game to OT with 8 seconds left and shanks a 38 yard FG.

Third team in the top 10 to fall.

They just tied it up 38-38, Stoops was going to go for 2 but OU had a false start penalty so they had to tie it up. Baylor has a lot of work to do or maybe OU does but I want to see Baylor win!

Only 2 teams left undefeated, one is LSU who has a defense but a questionable offense (running down the middle isn't much of an pffense), and the other is Houston whose opponents have been questionable at best this season. The rest have all been upset by one team or another.

OMG 8 seconds to go Griffin to Williams 34 yard TD pass 4th top 5 team to fall, Baylor kicks the ball off and OU just doesn't bother recovering it. Baylor with the kick off recovery to seal the game away.

#3, #4 and #5 all fall today. So if Houston drops it's final game to Tulsa then TCU could potentially move ahead of them and into a BCS Birth for winning the MWC. This could vault Wyoming into the Vegas Bowl with all these top 5 teams losing.

The Vegas Bowl officials have said they prefer BSU in that game because of the way Bronco fans travel. Only way they prefer Wyo over Boise is if the opponent is Utah. Don't want a repeat of the 2010 game.

I think Boise still has a chance at a BCS game.. a lot of insanity happening here.

BSU will get a BCS eligibility bid no doubt about it, TCU will get BCS autobid if Tulsa upsets Houston next week and TCU ends the season with a higher ranking than Houston.

On top of that any Bowl Committee that is looking for fans that travel and games that are going to draw a huge crowd will look at BSU and TCU they always draw huge crowds and with all the losses today there are only 2 things that keep Wyoming out of the Vegas Bowl.

1. Houston beats Tulsa finishes undefeated and likely to be in the top 5.

2. Wyoming beats BSU knocking them below Houston.

This also means unfortunately Alabama vs LSU is likely to be the NC Title game.

There are way too many conferences struggling to have enough bowl eligible teams to have for Wyoming to miss a bowl. This would have been an issue 5-8 years ago. Now? They're fine. Its a matter of where, not if.

I would like to see us beat Miami personally. I think we could. Haven't been impressed with them this year in the few games I've watched

Miami ain't playin' no playoff games this year.. decided to penalize themselves and not go to a bowl

Yea I was just about to post that
