UNLV game tonight

Man tonight started out good. Something really got to me though. The producers from the mountain actually had to ask me to sit behind the announcer to make it look like fans were there. I had people texting about how empty it looked on tv. I remember growing up as a kid going to a packed AA with rowdy fans. Tonight it seemed like the fans and players fell asleep the second half. I really don't have a problem with any of our players. I do think we have a lot of talent. We showed that when we wanna we can be a dangerous team. It's just that we rarely play up to our potential . I think the broom is getting closer to cleaning house in this program. They are really gonna have to play their a**'s off these next 2 months for me to be convinced that this staff deserves another season. Just my :twocents:

Hey trinity, Boise St is probably the best football team in the new MWC. Their athletic budget is 25 mill. San Diego St is the best basketball program in the MWC. Their athletic budget is 27mill. and they have to rent their facilities. Guess what Wyoming's budget is? 26 mill. and with a goal of 30 mill. in several years. Looks like we have a competive budget with the top teams in the MWC ( I'll concede that that SDSU has nicer weather though

As a side note, I don't find Laramie's weather too obnoxious.. except the wind, F that. Lived in the wind in Thermopolis, Laramie, and Casper.. I'm over it. Inland Northwest weather is pretty obnoxious.. but that's another story..

We are so bad that teams don't get up to play us. UNlv looked disinterested in the first 1/2. I'm sure Kruger got on them at 1/2 time. In the first 17 minutes of the second half, they doubled us up, 50-25. Then they laid down to not embarrass us. They took pity on us on our own court!
Those who think we looked "better" last night and see improvement, that's great. Let's give HS another contract extension. Let's give this a chance. We get back all those injured superstars and then the fans will come back. HS will turn it around. It's all been bad luck with injuries and guys leaving the team. I mean, after all, we beat Adams State by 50 points! We must be good. It's the fans fault for not supporting the program. With a full house last night, we might have pulled it out.
I know if we make the mistake of letting HS go, there will be a bidding war to enlist his services. But, if I know Tom Burman, I bet we get 1 more year of HS. Thank God.

Oh, and weather...really? Such a tired excuse. You know they have pretty crappy weather this time of year in the Big Ten, Big East and at many other smaller schools. And they don't bitch about it...when did Cowboy Tough become an oxymoron?

You keep talking about adjustments. What adjustments? UNLV was not ready to play and then woke up. You think our talent is on the same level as theirs? Name one player on our team that Lon Kruger would want. You are really full of crap.

I love Laramie and live in Denver. And, while the wind doesn't blow as much in Colorado, it certainly blows hard. I had an 80 foot tree in my back yard get blown over a few years ago. The road between Boulder and Golden (highway 93), is a freaking wind tunnel.
Also, in regards to UNLV vs Wyoming talent....Kruger would definitely take a couple of our guys. The thing is, he could actually make them play up to their abilities. Desmar was a freaking freshman AA....he could play for any team in this league if coached properly. The kid has all the tools.

Adjustments. Well...I guess you missed the game, completely. Even an idiot could pick up the paper, read the box score, and tell that UNLV made adjustments. UNLV came out after half inspired, with a "plan"...they didn't "wake up" as you put it...UNLV is not a great team...they are simply coached much better.
Talent isn't that far off, from what I see...I just question how UW's is used and developed. Name one player...I'll give you 4 that would see significant (or more) growth & impact on UNLV's roster than ours (M'Baye, Jackson, Thiam, Gibson).
And as far as being full of crap...well...not sure I care about what you think. It is a message board, and my opinion is just that. You didn't need to come across as an asshole though. :thumb:
