Apparently, a lot of Wyo fans out there forget that DC is the Reigning MWC Coach of the year. Also that he is coming off of a 8-5 season. When was the last time we won at least 8??? 1998!!! That's right, 14 years ago. Now I'm not saying I'm happy with the current season in any way, but what I am saying is quit acting like a bunch of Nebraska fans and calling for the coach's head because of one bad season.
It's not one bad season, it's two. It's also his body of work since he's been here. He loses games and he loses players, which causes us to play true freshman too often. Should we put the best player on the field, yes. But many times the true freshman is the best player because we lost the guy that should be playing. If we can schedule two FCS teams per year and be lucky enough to have one, two and three win teams on our schedule each year, maybe we can sniff 8 win seasons. This is the best we'll have with this guy, beating shit teams. So if we play enough shit teams, we'll win games. He's not up to the job. It looked like a good choice, it wasn't, let's try someone else.
2009- 6-6 regular season, a bunch of Freshmen beat out Glenn's recruits for starting spots, and went to, and won the New Mexico Bowl by the skins of their teeth. Offense was abysmal and was worse than it was when this season began, especially on the o-line.
2010-Offense improved a little bit, were more competitive in games like against BYnerU, but the ball just didn't bounce our way.
2011-Offense becomes much better, especially thanks to a good o-line and Brett Smith. Defense is in the top 5 in the nation in forcing turnovers, beat out winning teams in SUDS and the Howdy Doodys to finish 3rd in the MWC. We were in the game against TCU up until Smith got nailed by Tank Carter in the 4th quarter. Held BSU to 7 points for most of the 1st half until the freak Hail Mary.
2012-Offense gets the yards, especially when Smith is healthy (up until his concussions, he would be driving the offense up and down the field), but the defense is without turnover machines Josh Biezuns and Tashaun Gipson.
We got boat raced by Fresno and BSU, but the other games we were in up until the very end. And the ball has not bounced our way in many of those, but to want give up FBS because "it's too hard" is the bullshit thing to do. Sounds more like what a BYnerU or a Sheep fan would say, rather than a UW fan.
