It looks like it's a done deal. Gabbert may be close to coming to Laramie according to one reporter.
Does he have to sit out a year?MrTitleist said:That would be really interesting... I worry that bringing in a transfer, who will sit out this year, cause one of our freshman to transfer.. which might be bad..
He would already have a good idea of the offense as Mizzou runs a very similar spread to ours, but it's like throwing a wrench into things, never know what will happen with it.J-Rod said:Does he have to sit out a year?MrTitleist said:That would be really interesting... His recruiting profiles suggest he's like a golden recruit for Wyoming. Like as good as it gets! Perfect for the offense.....but definitely complicates things.
Yeah, you can't just throw away Smith, Pittser, etc. That's not how college ball works.fromolwyoming said:He would already have a good idea of the offense as Mizzou runs a very similar spread to ours, but it's like throwing a wrench into things, never know what will happen with it.
Most programs though, have a junior or senior starter with another upperclassmen as a back up and the bottom two redshirting for future years. With Tyler Gabbert, we'd have 4 underclassmen, with the Juco being a Sophomore, and 3 Freshmen.Cowboy Junky said:It's an open competition. They all knew they would be competing against three other quarterbacks when they got to campus. Every program has 4 qb's on the roster. What it does is add a fourth body into the qb pool, which you have to have. It ups the level of competition between the guys that are here.
The good news, Gabbert will already be a transfer, so he's not going anywhere.
