Twitter Tyler Gabbert.

That would be really interesting... I worry that bringing in a transfer, who will sit out this year, cause one of our freshman to transfer.. which might be bad..

He's a talented athelete. He was locked in a spring battle with a great qb as well. We would be lucky to get him.

Does he have to sit out a year?

His recruiting profiles suggest he's like a golden recruit for Wyoming. Like as good as it gets! Perfect for the offense.....but definitely complicates things.

He would already have a good idea of the offense as Mizzou runs a very similar spread to ours, but it's like throwing a wrench into things, never know what will happen with it.

Yeah, you can't just throw away Smith, Pittser, etc. That's not how college ball works.

Lets say the typical predictions are correct and Wyoming goes 5-7 this year, but Pittser/Smith make great strides. You can't just say, "Sorry, Gabbert's better, have fun on the bench".

Or can you? :?

I honestly don't really like this move. We already have two great young QB's and from reading a lot of things it seems this kid is kind of a Prima Donna. Hopping around from one school to the next until he finds one where he can start. Not sure if this is such a good idea.

I think the frosh who loses the QB battle will probably transfer at some point, unless they want to wait four years to play one which I don't see happening. I say what the hell if it were up to me, what's one scholly especially at the position where we only have two scholly guys on the roster? It's insurance if nothing else.

It's an open competition. They all knew they would be competing against three other quarterbacks when they got to campus. Every program has 4 qb's on the roster. What it does is add a fourth body into the qb pool, which you have to have. It ups the level of competition between the guys that are here.

The good news, Gabbert will already be a transfer, so he's not going anywhere.

So....I gotta ask....How is that Blaine is a monster (6'5, 234 lbs), but Tyler is small (6'0, 195lbs)?

Most programs though, have a junior or senior starter with another upperclassmen as a back up and the bottom two redshirting for future years. With Tyler Gabbert, we'd have 4 underclassmen, with the Juco being a Sophomore, and 3 Freshmen.

Obviously he'd have to sit out a year. If either Smith or Pittser plays well, he could be #2 or even #3 on the depth charts. He bolted from Mizzou over not being a starter. Now he bolts from Louisville after just days. I thuibk you pass on him, because you have two good quality QBs. No need to create a three-way competition for starting QB.

Does it really matter what the other QB's decide to do as long as the best guy is starting for wyoming and winning games. I would like to have the depth too, but if Gabbert, Smith or someone else becomes a monster of a QB and starts winning for us, we should all be happy. As long as we have the best possible QB I will be happy.
