Trib.com Article on Lieberman

Landerpoke, the difference between Lieberman and Washington is "Effort and Discipline" TW3 choked, period, end of story - and I'm not Bernie Sanders handing out hall passes. Don't need to coddle someone, when a player does selfish things (rumored) because of weak moments, then he screwed his teammates, the students and the fans. He's not part of the team, lost his get out of jail free card and I respect the way Wyoming handled it. Why else would he leave? oh, that's right, he didn't have a choice because not to many kids walk out on the team with four games left - he was forced out, read between the Public Relations Spin. What we need now is a backup to Lieberman because JJ will take Adams spot, so we need to start thinking about the bench.

My starters for next year:

Naughton/Gorski
Herndon
JMAC
Lieberman
JJ (If he works his ass off in the offseason) Parks can you help him to? LOL

First and foremost, thanks Cali2wyo for posting all those videos. Nice to see what's going on at Wyo on the inside.

Coach Shyatt and Lieberman pick up on this link, if I copied it correctly. Now we know what the Shyatt's see in Lieberman. Good to know and a 4.0????? Kid has basketball intellect and he's book smart, makes sense.

On the whole, I like Lieberman. He has laid some eggs and gone through growing pains, but he is WELL ahead of where Grabau was at this point in his career. Riley didnt sniff 30 minutes of playing time until his Junior season. Lieberman has a chance to have a very solid career. He is starting to hit shots and the defense is starting to click for him. He will never be a shutdown defender but his feet seem to be going where they need to be going moreso now than earlier this season. Love hearing guys who bust their ass start seeing success.

Is there one thing that Lieberman does above average? He can hit wide open threes at a slightly above average rate. What else does he bring to the table? Would honestly rather have Washington as the other featured guard.
If he's only slightly above average from 3-point range, I guess we only have one good 3-point shooter on the team since he's got the second-best percentage on the team.

Right now Lieb's doesn't have enough attempts/makes to qualify. If he did, his current % would rank 7th in the conference. Jason McM is the current conference leader in 3pt %.

The impressive thing for Lieb's is he has brought his 3pt % up almost .70 since the start of the conference schedule from 31% to 38%.

My main observation of Liebs is that he has frequent periods (short, mind you) of lack of concentration, during which he commits unforced turnovers.

I also remember hearing when Lieberman signed that his family bought the house of recently fired Dave Christensen, anyone else hear the same?

If so, there is some big $$$$'s in the family. Or is the whole family living in Laramie?

I think the answer to both is yes. I believe they moved out when he started school but I would guess they have some money.

I'm sorry, does anyone look at the STATS??? yes ESPN

http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/player/_/id/3137771/jeremy-lieberman

Last five games he had a total of 6 turnovers, TOTAL. Against CSU and Fresno he had ZERO.......

Josh Adams, had 20 yes 20 Turnovers the last five games - Know your stats before mouthing off it makes you look stupid like a democrat who doesn't read, just takes the talking points and runs with it.

http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/player/_/id/61500/josh-adams

Last five games he's shooting 50%+ percent from 3 point range and field goals. He had 7 rebounds and 4 assists the last two games. He's just playing horrible right??? I'll take that horrible performance from any of the Cowboy players. If this team could get that kind of game "Consistently" out of JMac, Adams, Leiberman, Dalton (I really think this kid has potential, love his hustle) Naughton and Herndon, we can beat anyone.

Lets beat SDSU......

Goes both way....no need to label an entire group of people.

An Adv8ru12, since when is success a bad word????? Who cares if his family is rich from Cali, just means their smart, I'm not a socialist and can assure you Malibu California has a lot more fun activities than Laramie Wyoming so something had to really get Lieberman excited to move to a small town and I think it was Coach Shyatt and the fact the people in Laramie are humble. Lieberman doesn't strike me as a spoiled kid with entitlements. Shit Pepperdine is up the street from Malibu, if he wanted the cake walk that's where he should've went to school, but he picked this program for a reason. Probably because Parks saw that Shyatt could make Lieberman a better player. Look at Larry Nance Jr., playing for the Lakers. Look at Adams who nobody wanted out of High School because he was a hot head and look where he is now? Josh is a solid 2nd Round Draft pick in my opinion maybe surprises all of us and goes 1st round. He has really matured the last two years (yes, his Junior and Senior year) in fact, I think Josh is a much better player this year because he's had to learn to adjust to the game and the players and bring all of them up to a higher standard to make the TEAM better. For that, Josh is a true leader, love that kids passion, even when he misplaces it - but Shyatt has taught him to channel that emotion.

I'm afraid I'm with Landerpoke on this one. Lieberman is like Grabau in that he is white, that's about it. He's not as good a shooter, not nearly as good from the free throw line, is a worse defender (somehow) and can't get to the rim and finish. But I guess he's good at spot up shooting wide open threes sometimes.

Someone should look up their sophomore stats. I'm willing to bet that liebs is a better shooter if you compare soph to soph seasons. Liebs won't ever be the free throw shooter but most can't match that. Liebs assist to turnover will only get better with age

Riley averaged 30.8 mpg as a sophomore.

Lieberman is a better perimeter shooter (38% to 32%) at this stage in his career (they had similar overall FG% of 35%) and not that much worse from the FT line (71% to 74%). Biggest difference in Grabau's favor is the A/TO ratio as Grabau was better than 2:1 and Lieberman is barely above 1:1. That's a big issue for a PG who is limited in other ways. Grabau made up for his limitations with perimeter shooting, FT shooting, and steady ball handling and running the team. Lieberman has already proven he can do the first two (he is a very good shooter), the question is whether he can develop the 3rd and improve defensively.

Yes, only because I looked up his stats in relation to laxwyo's post.

In each sophomore year, Jeremy has averages 7.9-2.6-3.8 with shooting splits of 34-37-71. Riley averaged 6-1-2.5 with splits of 35-32-74. Jeremy is ahead of where Riley was everywhere besides the charity stripe
