Trib.com Article on Lieberman

This was an interesting article on Lieberman and his trainer Clint Parks. Coach Shyatt likes the ball in his hands, like Grabau.

When I clicked on the link, it asks you to answer a survey question - how I drive to work, didn't understand the relevance, but its only one question and then you can read the article.

That's how a lot of newspapers get some revenue by doing surveys for products before their articles. I know nothing of the process or the amount of money but I see it a lot on a bunch of sites. I don't even read the question just click an answer and move on.

As far as the story. Its really good. I knew there was a connection between those two but I had never heard the whole story. Pretty cool. I think Clint has been a blessing to more of the team than just Lieberman. Seems to be a good person to have around the team. Lieberman has played great recently and am looking forward to a big jump next year.

It's a way how they make money. I guess you didn't see there's a "skip survey" button... you guys must not Internet very often.

I've loved to see lieberman blossom into a MWC level PG, I'm excited to see him grow over these next 2 years

I didn't have to answer a survey. Probably because I started paying for an online subscription when I started to follow the program two years ago.

I know people here don't like Lieberman, but I'm excited to watch and see what he develops into over the next two years. Honestly, I think he'll be the guy to take over the team next year.

If Lieberman is our point guard, team leader and playing 35 min per games next year we are in trouble. Glad he's gone from abjectly horrendous to borderline MWC player while costing us a few games this season, I guess.

Did he sleep with your daughter or something? I don't get the hostility. Shyatt says he plays like the PG we had that helped us win a conference tournament... how can you not see that as a positive?

I think he's the worst player to see significant minutes I've ever seen at Wyoming. Let's just say I hope he continues his marginal improvement because apparently he's locked into the starting pg role for the next two years.

Who else is going to start at PG? If Conway can steal that from him as a freshman then good for him but without that then Liebs is the guy. Overall he has had a rocky year but the last few games he has played great and if that is the baseline and he can improve on it going into next year, I'm ok with that.

Wut? I honestly read that three times and can't comprehend what you are saying  I can't figure out if that's an insult or compliment. Leaning towards insult, but can't tell. Either way I don't care..

That doesn't surprise me that you wouldn't know since you don't seem to know much about basketball.

I love all the the people bitching about underclassmen because they're not all MW.

Lieberman will probably be better than Grabau. I'll take that.

First of all people act like Grabau was really good. He was an average at best MWC point guard as a senior and it took him three years to get there. So if Lieberman gets to the rarefied status of Grabau then we'll surly be where we want. If it takes a player three years to maybe get where Grabau was our program has major talent issues.

Name one point guard last year in the mountain west that was better at being a point guard. Not a shooting guard or wing but a true point guard. Also, Grabau his junior year had a crazy assist to turnover ratio and was a good shooter both his junior and senior year.

I have been thinking about Shyatt's philosophy in recruiting and coaching and I think he loves kids like liebs and Grabau because of the chip they play with. I said when schoyer was here that I would rather watch a bunch of front range and Wyo kids play their guts out and not be the most athletic then watch kids that don't care at all that are athletic.

About the article, does it make anyone else nervous about liebermans trainer living with him? I know it's probably not anything but it makes me nervous about improper benefits, but I guess it's liebermans house so it should be ok.

I love these quotes.

We heard that about every single player Shyatt has produced.

Nance couldn't replace Washington.

Grabau should have had his scholarship revoked.

JMac is not starter material.

Grabau won a MW tourney championship. More than most wyo pgs over the years.

I'll take a grabau any day.

Two students who live together and work out together, I don't think there's anything wrong with that. If he wasn't a student, or was a CJC member or a professional scout obviously there's a problem, but this sounds fine to me.

I also remember hearing when Lieberman signed that his family bought the house of recently fired Dave Christensen, anyone else hear the same?

Landerpoke,

I agree with the other post, you have a "hard-on" for Lieberman, was it your wife, daughter or girlfriend? LOL Try to be more "Objective" this board is pretty balanced in its disbursement of accolades and ripping a player or coach a new one when they F up. Lieberman has made huge strides this year and Coach Shyatt trust him with the ball, that's not an easy task as Papa Shyatt is a ball buster. To earn his trust is huge, he wants his PG to do as he is told and Lieberman has learned by watching Riley G, who was the captain of the ship, steady hand, no panic and an excellent free throw shooter. The PG is like the QB in football, they set the pace, tone, calm down the players, set the plays - its an important position and I think Lieberman has earned it this year. Now we need JJ to step it up and live in the gym like Lieberman and Adams so we have someone with the flash that everyone seems to like. Conway will need to play D or he won't play, period.

On a brighter note, lets kick SDSU's ass tonight.

Is there one thing that Lieberman does above average? He can hit wide open threes at a slightly above average rate. What else does he bring to the table? Would honestly rather have Washington as the other featured guard.
