I don’t care the cost, I don’t care if they all transfer, go get someone that knows what the hell they are doing! This has got to be the most pathetic showing since Vic, and even then, at least those kids played hard. This game was my breaking point.

Maybe like the transfer portal Sawvel will want to leave too??? Just a goofy thought...naaa he's making killer money living in the 7220...why go anywhere else, that'd be more like work
 
2-8, its clear Sawvel is over his head. The wasted 39 seconds before the end of the first half where Sawvel never called one of his 3 time outs proves he is not ready for the D1 level. We are literally loosing games because of his incompetence. To add icing to the cake look at Cody Tucker's article regarding Waylee getting only 8 touches, Sawvel saw no issues with it. Sam Scott is not good for anything longer than a 3 yd gain and Waylee would have scored on Ferrell's big run

What should happen:

Burman “Jay, you are not a HC. I made a mistake hiring you. Here’s your choice, take my offer of $2,000,000 and find yourself a decent assistant gig somewhere because if you demand your full contract I will make sure not even a desperate HS will want to hire you as a volunteer to do JV football uniform cleaning.”

What will happen:

Burman “Jay, it’s been a tough year. I know you were given guidance to run the team the way you did before you realized you were making a fool of yourself. Now that you’ve owned up to being a shit coach I want to commend you for winning 2 conference games and being competitive in several losses. You have my vote of confidence to continue on as you see necessary. I believe you are on the right track and please, don’t let the fans annoy you. They don’t know what it takes to run division 1 sports.”

This would be ideal, but I think Burman is safe as long as he fires Sawvel.

Now if Burman’s plan is to hang onto Sawvel, then I do believe he could be on the hot seat. This season has been such an unmitigated disaster that even the most complacent higher ups at UW have surely taken note.
 
Would back to back 60-0 shut outs to end the season help our cause in wanting at least 1 but preferably both coach and AD gone? Because, I think its entirely possible.
 
Reading The 7220 article on why Waylee didn’t get carries was damning for me. Sawvel’s reasoning for not giving Waylee more carries was ridiculous. The kid is a gamer and can break off a run in a split second. He simply gives you a higher probability of winning than any of the other backs we have. And PBJ uses flawed deductive reasoning to undercut the kid and his team. Just like he did with Anderson and Svoboda. Jay is garbage as a coach.

Waylee should transfer. He deserves better than Haug, Johnson and Sawvel. Junk coaches with garbage excuses. If they are so smart, surely they can figure it out with Harrison being collateral damage. I feel for the kid.
 
Howdy, folks. New member here. I’ve been lurking off and on for quite awhile. I finally decided to join as a member.

I attended the Idaho and BYU games. I came away shocked that a UW football team could be so unprepared and uninspired.

I may not know what coaches or ADs could be better but those currently in place are not getting the job done. They have got to be replaced. I advocate for replacing Burman first and let the new AD hire the next head coach.
 
Sawvel is a moron. One of his comments is below - post game.

COLUMN: Jay Sawvel said it didn't matter who was in the UW backfield tonight, CSU owned the LOS. That may be true, but how do you give arguably the best player on your roster just eight attempts all night?
 
Since financially it’s probably not going to happen, but what if he let go of Johnson and promoted Jovon? Bouknight could maybe salvage our offense, and maybe get some fans back in the corner. Of course it could be just a bandaid, but he could also get some experience and maybe position himself for a head job someday. Food for thought…
