This makes me sick...

Plus football pays not only for themselves, but a good portion of the other sports.

Where did you get that idea?

Maybe half of FBS schools turn any profit on football. And it's hard to believe we're one of them.

Are you saying WYO football does not turn a profit?

We've gone over this so many times. Football is profitable.

I find it very hard to believe that WY is in the perhaps half of FBS schools who actually turn a profit from football.

Why? Have you not seen our football budget (and expenses)? Every sport loses money at UW, with the exception of football & men's basketball. Both those profit...they keep the UW AD alive.

Oh, and :deadhorse1:

You would be wrong. Well, at least reported profit. WYO football generates approximately $2 million above expenditures. Of that $2 million it is not clear how much is University driven (i.e. State appropriations, student fees, etc.) and how much is strictly football driven (i.e. ticket sales, merchandise, conference revenue, donations strictly to football, etc.).

It is the only (I think) sport that generates a revenue. Bball should next year because of tourney credit money, again, I think.
