Quote from Dave Christensen at the beginning of the year at a CJC function.
He also talked about shocking Nebraska (almost) and winning the Mountain and going to an upper tier MWC bowl.
He mentioned that we finally had depth on both sides of the ball.
Well, if this is the best team he's had and he thinks this crap football is anywhere near competitive with others in the MWC, we are in huge trouble...and I think we are.
Dave explained away the early butt kicking to Boise by pointing to the lack of talent and the need to recruit and build. Well, we are five years in and getting trounced worse than we were at the beginning of his tenure.
We are so far behind CSU, Boise and even UNM and UNLV that it will take a long time to recover...if we ever recover. And DC ain't the guy to get it done. We all know it. Burman knows it. The question is, do we run out the clock on DC over time, or cut our losses? If everyone in Laramie is going to be consistent, they need to pull a Sternberg and cut our losses. December 2013 will say alot about Burman and UW and its commitment to football. If they are serious about getting back on top, I am in. If they want to pantywaist it, I am out - football season tickets, CJC donations and all - until they signal that my investment in them will yield a positive return.
I do think that both of our BBall teams will erase some of the bitterness, but Burman had better not count on the gloss of basketball success covering the stench of a pile of crap our football teams has become.
