The Powder Keg has blown

Someone on the other board mentioned that the MWC came out and said that we hadn't talked to BSU nor that a invite had been given. Then, BAM!! BSU is in the league three days later. A&M goes real soon.

It's not over by what we are hearing down here. There is a certain order things are to be done to avoid huge lawsuits by the Big 12 to the SEC. I know what it is but it takes to long for me to explain it all. Leaked information has caused problems.

I have found this whole T a&m/SEC issue to be very sad. While I think it would be interesting to see what a Texas team would do in the SEC, I think this is a sad situation for Texas A&M. They are, in my opinion, one of the most storied programs in college football. While not successful of late, they still have a following like few others. Their boosters and $ are second to none. Why are they prostituting themselves to the SEC? To spike UT? Or this is just a move instigated by their pro-SEC AD? Why not think outside the box? T A&M could propose to leave the big 12, start their own conference and take the best of the Big 12 with them and poach a few others ; byu, or even Ariz/Ariz St. or AFA, Boise. i know this is WAY outside the box, but it seems to be better than surrendering to the SEC. I always thought the state of Texas stood for independence. Not "suck up."

I'm pretty much over all of it. When programs now decide that it's ok to say goodbye to 100 yr old rivalries for more money is just a slap to the face of what college football should be about. Basically, Fuck you BYU and Utah.

Edit: Its official. A&M told to go f!ck themselves by the SEC.

For now. This isn't even close to over yet. The A&M Board of Regents meets today, and should they approve the president to seek another conference (which I understand hadn't been done yet), this will all start over again. Once that call is made to the SEC, I would imagine they extend an invite relatively quickly. The proverbial shite has not yet hit the fan.

While I agree with you about BYU and Utah, don't think this means the end of the Texas/A&M rivalry. Having plenty of family down there, I can guarantee that game will continue. If it didn't, both schools boosters would never hear the end of it.

GO POKES!
