That's on Coach

DINO, with all due respect, and all kidding aside, you ask if many of these kids have any talent (you have listed several names of players in multiple threads like Nick Smith and wonder why they are playiing), and I can tell you that many of the young guys not only look lost, they look like they have never been coached - almost like they have never played football before.

So my question to you is this - who handed out the scholarships to these kidss? Last time I checked it was Bohl who recruited these guys. He's the one who took the freshman route and eschewed JC transfers. I don't get it. You yourself criticize many of the players today, yet Bohl is the savior? Somebody needs to take responsibility for having guys out on that field who don't belong in D1. I'm no coach, and I'm certainly no expert, but I have watched football for many, many years and there are kids out there that I seriously don't believe have the skill sets either physically or mentally to cut it at this level. So, please explain to me how a guy who is supposed to be a living "football god" can miss on this many kids. I don't think it's the kids' fault, it all falls on the coaching staff and an inability to teach even the most fundamental elements like tackling and blocking. This is a world class shit show and Craig Bohl and his fellow coaches need to take a long look in the mirror because they are letting these players down. Fuck us fans, can you imagine being thrown to the wolves like this (and we aren't even playing any difficult opponents yet).

I'm not calling for Bohl to be fired, but I guarantee you it's time he started micromanaging his staff and figure out what is going on. He and Vigen and Stanard and the rest of the crew need to be on the hot seat. They recruited these kids. They have been coaching these kids. They work with them every day. They draw up the game plan. And when those kids hit the field it's like WTF? I won't give up on the kids, but I will not hesitate to call out a piss poor performance by a coaching staff. Not only are the players in over their heads, but a lot of the coaches are as well. End of rant.

You have to give him some slack on some of these kids. He had how long to get a first recruiting class together? Dave left him two kids. Two. And one is gone already. The lack of talent is showing in some guys like Smith and Aaron Young but he needed a quarterback in that first class so he had to take a shot. I believe we have much better talent with Allen and then some good talent coming with Chandler Garrett.

And while today may be frustrating, the improvement I saw was unbelievable. While Allen getting hurt really killed us, I thought there were some positives. The defense is young and Andrew Wingard had a big day. Christian Irving played well and had a great hit on special teams. The offense is young with multiple young receivers, Allen returning, and of course Brian Hill. I just wish Overstreet could get some more carries this year. While we went 4-8 last year, I believe 2-10 could have easily happened as we had very questionable wins against Air Force and FAU. I do believe we will get a game or two like Fresno State where we put it together as a team and look real impressive. It's going to be a little bumpy, its going to be a little rough, so if you don't like it, get off for now and don't let everyone hear it. I do believe better days are ahead.

Rich. A fucking transplant from New York and a Bohl deciple( neither of which have been here for more than a season or two) telling us that we have to see a NAIA quality team before we can expect progress. Fuck off!

Wait! Where am I?
Across from the feedlot, just outside the town where half the people are related to eachother.

Well, that's what I think of whenever I hear "Kansas", and not without reason...

WOW! That just summed up where I live! I mean spot on, no joke.
The other ones a bit derogatory by Bladerunner... In fact that is one state east. They call it Ar-Kansas...

I stole that line from "Married with Children". Have no idea where Al was referring to.....

He was referring to Peggy's (his wife) relatives.

We're losing 38-7 at half to what I thought was the worst FBS team in the country but it turns out it's actually us. You know how that makes me feel? Bad. Besides, you think if CB said hey slide next time that Allen would say got it coach I'll throw a shoulder next time. You are about as annoying sometimes as an actual little monkey wearing glasses typing at a computer

Remember when Utah State was ranked in the bottom of FBS programs about 10 years back, they're starting to figure it out, hmmmm the rebuild may take longer than we thought, lol

I actually arrived quite some time ago, but I understand your frustration.

That's some seriously heavy language you be choosin' to be usin', Cowboy.

But I got tough skin, I can take it, hit me back harder next time.

Dino (and Josh) my insinuation that you have to have been here for a long time, in general, was douchey. To be a fan, It most definitely doesn't matter where you're from or for how long. However, equally as douchey, are the posts stating that many fans can't hold anyone accountable for this current iteration of our shit show or that we just need to be patient (especially at the time they were posted). It's been stated ad nauseum, but many of us HAVE been here for a long time. Doesn't mean we're better but it does mean the pride has been sucked dry and that realization is setting in that we don't belong at this level (not saying we need to drop, but all we are is a guaranteed win that counts towards bowl eligibility). That's tough to admit for a once proud fan of a once proud tradition.

Unequivocally, under no circumstances, should we ever lose to a mid-to-low level FCS team or another team that most definitely doesn't belong at the FBS level. (Apologies to EMU fans but Michigan doesn't need 5 FBS teams - especially when 2 of them are B1G, and I would be surprised if most alum/fans weren't fans of a B1G team first). Both just absolutely trucked us, at home no less, and I don't care if we are rebuilding or not, it shouldn't happen to this team with our (potential?) resources. The other ten games on our schedule could be justified I guess, but not the first two. That's how I feel and I suspect many others do as well.

Here's my stance in general;

ADTB: totally outclassed by peers at FBS and FCS. The man most responsible for current state. No vision, no creativity, no drive, no attention to detail. He makes enough money to deserve pressure and he should've been excused a long time ago. However, I have no confidence the good ol boys will take a hard look in the mirror and bring in a real change agent, so I guess they should just extend him (again).

HCCB: absolutely do not want him fired, but very disappointed in his finished product thus far. I'm sure he's even more disappointed than anybody, but he makes multiple hundred thousand dollars a year to take heat and give us something to be proud of. Well?

Players: behind them all the way. Their coaches have given the game plan and put them in this position. It's a man's game and my only expectation is that they man-up and don't roll over. They are giving total effort and trying to improve I'm confident.

All that said, on we go...
