TCU to Big East

Looks like the Evil Empire won. The behind the curtain string pullers manage to put the MWC into oblivion by knocking off it's best parts. God I hate those bastards!!!

The MWC or the Big Easy, if you look at it The MWC is the stronger conference the only reason for TCU or Utah to leave is being able to have that AQ status. When will the BCS brass realize that the Big East having AQ status and The MWC not having it is completely backwards, the best part of the Big East is in the ACC now... Virginia Tech (yes I am a VT fan I am from Virginia) and Miami (I cannot stand them).

Boise still upgraded, IMO. WAC is left w/ two teams new to FBS and some other teams. MWC is gonna fill w/ teams from CUSA..

"Instead of destinations such as Salt Lake City and Laramie, Wyo., the Horned Frogs will proudly fly their colors on the road against high-profile teams such as Syracuse, Pittsburgh and West Virginia."

From the ESPN article. That's a kick in the nuts if I ever saw one. I'm sure Pittsburgh is a helluva lot more exciting than Laramie, but what the hell is there in Syracuse or West Virginia?

TCU's "colors may fly" or whatever to schools who are bigger names....but how many fans will regularly???

I'll tell you what there is in Syracuse (Jim Boeheim) and Bob Huggins is in West Virginia. The tv and ncaa money just from basketball makes this a can't lose for TCU. Plus, they will get to beat the hell out of a really weak football conference on ESPN, not the mountain. This is terrible day for the MWC and makes me think that we are headed to 3 or 4 super conferences and the MWC won't be one of them. I only hope that Boise St. does not jump ship, although I don't know where they would go.

PAC hates their Academics, too far away from the Big 12 (plus the Big 12 wants to stay at 10), and the WAC is just about dead.

I think this will ultimately lead to TCU regret. A fan base that doesn't travel in any numbers even when they are ranked number 3 leads me to conclude that they won't be a favorite for bowl selection committees in the future.

They will be bottom dwellers in BB and occasional champs in football, but still aren't going to be loved by the BCS. I look forward to the BCS dropping the BigE from AQ status and watching TCU scratch their heads....wondering what they have done.

Actually I think the Big East will get raided next summer by the ACC to where TCU will come back in 3 seasons from now. No worries.

I was thinking earlier today about TCUs problems w/ fan support, then thinking about how funny the Rose Bowl is going to look when it's a sea of red full of Wisconsin fans and a tiny section of purple TCU fans. Much like last year's Fiesta Bowl where Boise fans took over Phoenix.

So does anyone still care whether or not TCU gets into the Title game if Auburn slips up against South Carolina?

Personally, I would still love to see a MWC team make it to the Title game even if that team later leaves to another conference. So I am still rooting for Auburn to slip up against South Carolina. TCU will be in the same place as far as the title game goes, if they lose 1 game in the Big East they can kiss the title game good-bye, but they would still get a BCS bowl game which is what is really driving this. They can beat similar (actually worse competition) and get a BCS game easier than they could here. Not a big baseball expert, but this sounds bad for that program. I wonder if that coach will go to a school that will support his program on the rise?

Well, their numbers will still count for the MWC for this evaluation period since the invite came so late and they won't be leaving until the summer of 2012.

If an early Christmas present is headed my way, I'll take an upset in the Civil War with Oregon State creating panic and disorder throughout the BCS. What would be said if the Beavers beat the Ducks? The Beavers whom Boise crushed. What happens to the final BCS if Nevada gets shocked by LA Tech and ends up losing the conference championship back to Boise? What if VaTech is crowned champ in their conference and the BCS formula extrapolates an improvement in BSU final number? What if Big Red is Big 12 champ and OK has three losses on the books?

Oh, what a delightful Holiday concoction we could be swigging on Saturday night....HO, HO , HO!
