(1) I hate the turds
(2) They are lucky turds
(3) Wazzu's end-of-game management allowed the turds back into the game
(4) The turds will miss Shaq Barrett...a lot
(5) The turds will miss those 4 seniors on the offensive line...a lot
(6) Grayson will regress next year (see 4 and 5 above)
(7) Bibbs is very good, but will likely regress next year too (see 5 and 6 above)
(8) McElwain is a good coach, motivator and, apparently recruiter, so I think they will fill the holes in their line-up, but not nearly to the level they were this year.
(9) Winning a New Mexico Bowl against a mediocre team with a series of amazing breaks is no catalyst for long-term success...see Wyoming circa 2009.

The difference between the NM Bowl then and now, is that it is Pac12 vs. MWC, not MWC vs. WAC.
Much better now, just by the Pac12 being there instead of the non-existant WAC.
Plus, mediocre or not, Wazzu and CSU are both programs on the rise.
You can spin it all you want about how they are losing so much talent, and they are, but they aren't built for the flash in the pan. They are built to be successful with who ever is playing.
They are light years ahead of us now, after 4 years of being our bitch. The tides have turned.

While there is little question that academic and athletic funding are separate in a lot of regards, I have to think that good ol' Moonshine Graham might have a tough sell spending several hundred million bucks on a new stadium and continuing to pay coaches over $1.5 million when his university is not in even mediocre financial health. Not good for the Sheepies. You think we had a revolt here when Sternberg was here, wait until the faculty in Fart Colons gets its teeth into the disparate treatment of athletics over academics. Uggglllyyy.
That is one HUGE if. CSU isn't that attractive IMO. They have a smaller fan base and their attendance figures suck in all sports. And they are rarely mentioned in the Denver media.OrediggerPoke said:LawPoke said:And then there is this:

According to that, his university falls only below Metro State and CU-Boulder as far as financial health when it comes to public schools in Colorado (Mines is semi-public).
We can disparage Graham all we want, but he may be leading CSU to the Big-12 and is a true visionary. If CSU makes the Big-12, that athletic income will look much much better.

Okay, I think I get what you are saying. We're looking at the same thing, but analyzing from different ends.BeaverPoke said:My joke, or sarcasm, or whatever is pretending to be happy with the MWC teams winning bowl games because it takes them to such a new level, when clearly wyoming is shit, and cheering our biggest rival on to bowl game wins is DUMB because they then steal recruits we go after.
Who gives a shit if the MWC is good or bad? We are really bad, so wouldn't it be nice if we could compete once in a while?
Or do you guys like the fact that we have never won a MWC football title.
Oh but wait! Coach Bohl will change that! Just like Glenn and DC did. On to a new era of smashmouth football right? Whatever, I just want to win, and hate seeing CSU put up such a good year, and they are only going to get better.
Meanwhile, we are starting over again, and are REALLY far behind the sheep.
