Cops kicked kids out of the student section because they refused to sit down... Ridiculous... They should be kicked out for sitting down.
This. the problem is the security, between Landmark and the actual police. Kicking someone out for something like that doesn't just take them out of the game but scares all the people around them into sitting down and being polite as to not get themselves booted.BeaverPoke said:So with that in mind, I don't think anyone on this board has a right to complain about the Wyo Student Section.
They literally can not stand up without getting kicked out by police.
Maybe now people will realize why the student section isn't as rowdy and fun as it was back in your day.
Your issue needs to be with the security/police/police-state surrounding the event not the students.

I was down on the floor, across from the benches today and toward the beginning the whole section was getting after West, they told us basically to calm down or theyd start tossing people, which did dial everybody back quite a bit. Then a little later on I got a warning from one of the cops for cussing at the refs. Toward the end when they made a rally and fouls didn't seem to be called both ways they pretty much backed off and let everyone go, lokely cause it was everybody and they weren't gonna throw the whole section outseattlecowboy said:wyokoke said:This. the problem is the security, between Landmark and the actual police. The athletic department is the one that hired them .So it is the athletic departments problem. Sounds like they are running a shit show over there.
I watched them the entire 5 minutes they stood in the first half. They did nothing wrong. It was two guys and their girlfriends. They were standing in the first row behind the band. A mom sitting one row behind me complained to someone about the four standing. Soon after, the cop came down and she stood up and started cheering for them getting kicked out. The female Laramie city officer asked them to sit down, they refused, and she kicked them out. The four did nothing wrong at all. As the cop was walking back up the stairs, another student came out into the isle and got into her face about the incident. It is dumb that they are so oppressive.phxpoke said:Are we sure that is all they were doing? I would like to hear the cop's side of the story. If it is true, she should not be allowed to work anymore games!

I doubt it. If she was, why would she be sitting in the student section?BeaverPoke said:wyocowboy2014 said:I watched them the entire 5 minutes they stood in the first half. They did nothing wrong. Was the mom that complained a season ticket holder?
Who can we complain to about this so it doesn't just fall on deaf ears?

Brad, I was notified about this as well. We will definitely look into it. If they were just standing and cheering, nothing wrong with that. We want a rowdy and electric atmosphere. If you can, share that this will be handled.
Thank you for letting someone know who can actually do something about this.MrTitleist said:I forwarded this thread to one of the UW marketing guys within the AD, got this response back from him this morning:

You guys can also use this website if you have problems like this pop-up.. I imagine the more descriptive and specific you are, the easier it is for these guys to track down any problems: http://www.gowyo.com/wyoway/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
You don't have an over abundance of intelligence. You related to Burman?joshvanklomp said:Thank you for letting someone know who can actually do something about this.MrTitleist said:I forwarded this thread to one of the UW marketing guys within the AD, got this response back from him this morning:

Just complaining on here doesn't get anything done. Accusing Burman/administration of being behind this doesn't get anything done.
Taking initiative does.
What does complaining on a message board do to promote change?Wyolie Coyote said:You don't have an over abundance of intelligence. You related to Burman?
Really don't see the issue with JVK here, for once. Idk if you read what he said, he actually wasn't blindly sticking up for Burman this timeWyolie Coyote said:You don't have an over abundance of intelligence.
