Sternberg is out.

If the rumors are true the Board of Trustees will have disgraced themselves.

Also hearing that former Gov Freudenthal may be appointed interim president. Total rumor at this point.

Might not be an immediate result, but this situation could allow the stand pat crowd to win which will mean we stay in a downward spiral.
 
That would be really really bad if the trustees did this. What a setback the University would feel if this happened.
 
This really pisses me off more than losing to BYU and CSU in the same day.
This pisses me off more than Wyonavian talking shit.

UW is a fucking joke.
What respected people in the higher-ed will want to come to UW?
What respected people in the athletic community will want to come to UW?

CST education reporter spoke with Sternberg. He has not resigned and said he is not aware of Board of Trustees discussion.
 
I hope this is just a rumor and nothing comes of it. If wanting to rise above mediocrity is reason to terminate then I am embarrassed to be from Wyoming. One of the reasons I hang out on this board is because you can hear things before they become public knowledge. Hope it is wrong this time.

If it's true it virtually guarantees that next president is someone internal like Buchanan or a "name" in the state like Freudenthal or Sullivan. No one from another university will come in here like this. We'll be toxic.

That's why I'm finding this all hard to believe. There are some highly intelligent people on the board who will recognize this.

In someways this could be worse. Say the BOT cans Steinberg because of the bitching, then we're toast in the academic world.
 
When was the last time there was any sort of student revolution on campus?
Black-14 days?
Do we give a shit enough to make some changes? I want to raise hell with the board of trustees.
 
Oh goodie, let's give everyone their positions back and continue as is. WTF?! I am so sick of this University looking like some 2 bit junior college. The "good ole boy system" is alive and well in Laramie. Gov Dave as President, did he start missing a fat State paycheck?! This is very disappointing.
 
If this is true we are done as a University with any level of respect. This would be twice in a row we made ourselves look small time. May as well be a glorified junior college.
