Stanard is not being retained as DC

I thought he did a decent job with a mediocre talent level defense. I won't complain that he's being replaced, but I don't think it was absolutely necessary. He was clueless against the spread option teams(New Mexico, UNLV) which wasn't about to change. Hopefully they make the right hire and become a strong defensive team like Bohl had at NDSU.
 
Should be a good year for him to find a coach. The BC defense is insane would like to pluck from their staff
 
This is pretty fantastic news! Foster tweeted that assistants will get a raise in March. Maybe with the extra money we can find a D1 coordinator.

Mike Breske is currently the DC at Idaho. I loved him at Wyoming although I doubt were going away from the 4-3 and he ran a 3-4.

I'm guessing Bohl had a replacement lined up before they didn't renew the Sheep. I would expect an announcement soon.

Imagine how good this team would be with a tough defense that doesn't get gashed in the run game.

I'm ok with this. We had some good defensive efforts this year, but still gave up a ton of points and couldn't shut down any team with a mobile QB. Hopefully with some extra assistant money Bohl goes and gets a salty D-Coordinator that can utilize the guys we have. With the way the offense is clicking right now, imagine if the Pokes can start putting together Glenn era defenses?
 
Bohl fired the wrong guy. OC should be exiled after the playcalling with all the Talent
Next year he will be gone with his 1960 play calling and young talent
Mallory is the DC if he stays

Was it the personnel or the coaching of the secondary that made the Pokes susceptible to the pass this last season? If it's the coaching, I wouldn't want Mallory in charge. I think the smartest thing to do is hire a DC that has been a DC AND has had a successful record (If it's financially possible).

No way in hell he goes from an NFL head coach to a G5 defensive coordinator

Scoring 37 points a game with a power offense should get you fired, while giving up 300 yard rushing performances to UNM and UNLV shouldn't?

Who's sock puppet is this? He's almost as socky as CheyenneAsskisser.

I haven't crunched numbers or closely evaluated, so this is totally off cuff. However, it seemed the D did ok on scoring this year but the field position battle wasn't good. Teams could move the ball and it made it more difficult on the offense because of the long field no matter what happened on the previous offensive series.

Again, total peripheral observation/recollection so I might be totally off.
 
Regardless of whether this move pans out or not, it's clear Bohl is putting together a high standard.
